Service was wonderful. Our waiter did a fantastic job.We sat on the patio facing the water on a very hot day. He kept our drinks filled even when the ice was melting nearly as fast as he brought it. If the food was as good as the service, I would have given it 5 stars. The food I got was over priced and flavor was not bad, but not as good as I had hoped it would be for the price. I got the BBQ pork plate with a baked potato and baked beans. It costs $1.50 extra for a little sprinkle of cheese and a few bacon bits. I asked for extra butter and sour cream which I did get. I just expected that the butter and sour cream would come already melting on a steaming hot baked potato. The margarine came in prepackaged cups with the peal off top and the sour cream was packaged in the little clear sauce cups with lids. Next time, I might just ask if I could order a kids meal and maybe get dessert too. I say next time because I might be willing to give it a try again because of the excellent service even when everyone is understaffed. I also like that it isn't a chain restaurant. I never would have known about Dockside Cafe if it hadn't been for a friend suggesting our...

A lot better since they’ve changed the menu. I really like the menu change and the brisket sandwich is really good.

I also really like the cotton candy milkshake...it is just right and not too sweet.

The workers are all nice but could use a little more practice/work, but not a big deal. ( example: hostess seating us in obviously the sunniest and hottest part of patio and just saying “this is usually the best/shadiest spot”)

However...one big big big suggestion I have! Please invest in a separate refrigerator for the desserts!! We were served frozen cheesecakes and pies today (key lime and strawberry lemonade) and the flavor was really really good, however the fact that they were frozen took away from that. Server admitted they are always stored in the “cooler” which from other restaurants I’ve seen I’m sure it is is really basically just a walk in freezer...she also had admitted that there have been times pies have been so frozen that they have been hard to cut and have slid around (probably means they have had to throw away slices from falling on the floor) So pls pls pls pls get a designated dessert...

I've been to previous restaurants at this locations in years past. Most were okay but not a destination. Dockside seems different. Nothing fancy but quaint. The other night was my first visit to Dockside and was quite pleased. We sat on the deck overlooling the lake. The nearby boat ramp offered some free entertainment. I ordered the Big Pig Burger. It was huge and had to it eat with knife and fork. Probably should have ordered the grill chicken salad. It looked good too but couldn't resist a good burger with added Brisket and Bacon. The only drawback is not able to order a beer with my burger. I guess because it's located inside Harrison Bay State Park. Btw - our server did a excellent job especially since we were a 10 person group. Plenty of dockspace to arrive by boat. Much better restaurant than Aries across the river. The closest other restaurant on lake is Amigos and it has very limited guest boat dock space. Dockside - arrive by car or boat but no alcohol served.

Update: Dockside now serves beer, yeah. And going their for breakfast by...

Dockside Cafe - Located at the marina a short distance from the camp ground. Pretty basic interior but don’t let that fool you. Wait staff were GREAT and talk about food. We ordered to Hawaiian Salads and having had same before thought they would be small, so we added to appetizers; fried pickles and a seafood dip. JEEZE, the fried pickles came out on a large pan - there was enough for a meal. Then the seafood dip came and it filled a medium skillet. Knew immediately the seafood was going home with us. When our salads arrive we were again shocked by how large. TOO MUCH FOOD - huge portions. Price more than reasonable. There is also a small store in the same building as the cafe.

A wonderful family run cafe nestled right in the marina at Harrison Bay State Park. Such a treat to go hiking, boating or fishing and then have a place like this to go to for a drink and some terrific home-made food. Cheeseburger and chicken tenders (so thick and juicy) are our go to meals. Their turnip greens are just like mom used to make. Fantastic. Service is spot on, fast and friendly. Do yourself a favor and get outdoors, then stop by Dockside for a meal to round out your day!

First time at Dockside post Covid and I have to say they've really stepped up their game on service. Everyone was very friendly and I couldn't have asked for better service than what I got from Samantha! She's an excellent waitress and they are lucky to have her. Obviously I had the wings and they were very good. They will be my go to any time I'm in the area now. I did half hot and half raspberry bbq and thought both were equally as good. If you haven't yet go check them out.
