This makes me ashamed that this is even necessary. I visited the HoP on May 6 and while I thought I received exemplary service while there, I quickly realized a while later that I had been shorted almost $40 of my change. I called and called and while they did answer they were already closed and said they could not do anything to help me and to call back the next day. The waitress did at that time acknowledge that she did short me $37. I left my info and a brief description of what happened. While I expected the manager to call the next morning when she was notified of what happened, because that’s what any good manager would do upon the realization that someone was without the money they were owed, I did have to call back myself after work. I was told the manager was gone for the day and that SHE would call me the next day. If I didn’t hear from her by 3:30 for me to call back myself. Yet again I was not the priority and had to try and chase down my change. I was told she was busy and would call back in 2 min. An hour later I again had to call them. I was told they were now finally going to look into it and call me back. I told them that I would just head that way because I refuse to wait another day. When I showed up they brought me less than I was owed. The waitress that made the mistake was apologetic and made the comment that she told them to get my cash app and she would’ve sent it before now. However, the person that handled it was less than and borderline rude. She didn’t offer me anything for my trouble. Not a dessert or meal on them... not even a sorry. Nope, I was instead offered LESS MONEY than I was owed and told I would have to yet again come back the next day for another measly $7. I told her it would cost me more in gas and that I would like the rest of my money now. Much to my dismay she quite literally said she would make the waitress that accidentally shorted me pay out of her own pocket. Was it the $7 I was owed in addition to the $30 they already gave me? No. It was $5. So after all this and being treated like I was common thief trying to scam them, I am still out $2. I would be embarrassed if this was how my restaurant was ran. What a...
Read moreFinally forced myself to get over here during their limited hours and it was soo worth it! My husband and I both got a plate with 2 meats and sides. We are very picky about any BBQ having lived in both Carolinas and Texas for some time, so we don't usually have high hopes when we try a new place. He got the pulled chicken, brisket, beans, cabbage and the cheddar biscuit. I got the pulled pork, ribs, slaw, fries and corn bread. Everything was so tender, juicy and just melted in our mouths! The rib meat feel off the bone and the brisket required very little chewing. Neither of the pulled meats had the overcooked tough stringy texture like many other BBQ places do. All of the sides were perfectly cooked. There was something about the fries that almost made them addicting. I'm extremely picky with it comes to slaw having had it so many places that claim to do it the best. I have to say I did enjoy the slaw here, which is a rarity. Guess I have to say if I had one disappointed it was the Holly Dolly pie. I got a piece to go for a night time snack as we were already taking 1/2 our food home with it cause of how much they gave us. Now I've never had a Holly Dolly pie before, so didn't know what to expect. Found it very hard to eat, just biting in was a bit of a challenge. That just means the next time I go, I won't get the pie! Highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys great BBQ, you won't be...
Read moreHorn of plenty has excellent food, and the flavor is wonderful! It's my new favorite place to eat! I love the variety of sides they offer; they offer every side imaginable. They have excellent green beans, fried okra, baked beans, sweet potato casserole, and corn casserole They also offer a multiple variety of other beans which you don't get many places. In addition, they have cabbage, mac-n-cheese, mashed potatoes, fries, and more. It's like a holiday feast option when you go! And the BBQ is outstanding! I was actually eating my pulled BBQ without sauce, because it had so much flavor. They have kid friendly food too! Our whole family was satisfied. My kids loved the nachos too! The dining area is very clean, and the decor is very inviting with an attractive country vibe. Our servers, when we went 3 times, were extremely nice, but very busy. I gave 5 stars in service because I was so proud of their efforts during a busy time, they were extremely kind, and the food came out really quickly. And I like the small shopping area too, it had very interesting merchandise that wood make good gifts to others and yourself! They have original art, cookbooks, and useful kitchen items that are good for decorating and cooking. They also had a silent auction with sports merchandise. And, it's the only place where my husband likes the fried green tomatoes! Good job,...
