After a fun day at Cade's Cove, we were super hungry and needed a place to eat. The Snoring Bear was close by, so we thought, "Why not give it a shot?" But when we walked in, we noticed the restaurant was pretty small, and the seating area had a mix of different chairs and tables, which didn't leave much space. The kitchen was right next to where we were sitting, and it made the air inside kinda smoky and thick. Not the most pleasant atmosphere, for sure. The food itself was just okay, nothing to write home about and the portions were on the smaller side. It also took forever for our food to arrive, even though there weren't many people in the restaurant at the time. We all ordered water to drink, and they actually charged us 50 cents for each water! And to make matters worse, the water didn't taste very fresh either. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this place, and won't be going back there anytime soon. I feel there are better options out there.

It was a nice little quaint place with about 16 seating inside with outdoor seating as well. Service was awesome. Food was great! Would definitely recommend and come back.

I love this diner so much! Where else can you get amazing comfort food in a truly down-home atmosphere with the Bob Ross Channel playing on the TV? The food, two of us enjoyed offerings off of the breakfast menu at 7pm, was tasty and plentiful! Home cooking at its finest. They have lots of outdoor seating, but we chose to sit in the air conditioned comfort of their tiny but comfortable indoor dining area. When I first walked in and noticed the wood paneling, took in the smells wafting in from the kitchen and saw Bob Ross painting his happy little trees I felt right at home. Our server was charming and attentive, which was unique in Townsend, TN…almost every eatery we tried didn’t have serving staff. I’m envious of the townsfolk who can eat here anytime they want. Pls try it if you haven’t!

The snoring bear dinner is one place I used to love but will never be back. I ordered food to go because we were going to have a picnic in the smoky. When we got there to pick up the food the kids were hungry so I asked the lady inside if I could take the food to one of the tables outside and eat. The lady very nicely said of course. I asked if there was ketchup out there and she said she didn't know so she went ahead and gave me a bottle to take with me. So we're outside eating with the kids about 5 minutes go by and some junkie waitress comes by and me mugs us and then storms off back into the kitchen. Couple minutes go by and the cook then comes out and starts yelling at me about how the tables outside are for people who ordered their food to stay. Not for people who ordered the food to go. I explained the situation and let him know that I told the people inside and they even gave me ketchup and he insisted that this was not okay and that I needed to pack up my food and leave. I finished my meal even though I didn't even want to eat it at that point. Just tried to play it off in front of the kids but by time I left it had got under my skin so I went back into the kitchen and lit. This man know how I felt about the situation. Needless to say I will never be back there and I will never ever recommend this place to anybody after how they talk to me and my family while my kids were just trying to enjoy their meal. I've never been treated this way, even at a McDonald's let alone one of our small local businesses. This place is an...

Saw this place by accident on the internet and since I was going to be out that way looking for property I thought what the heck, you need something interesting and different and that is what I got. Walking up to the Snoring Bear I knew this was going to be great. Got inside and WOW I think it was the smallest eatery I had ever been in but for some reason it had the warmth and comfort. If your looking for the top of the Mart kind of place move on, this is down home country and I loved it. The staff was great the the Cook/Owner can cook for me any day of the week. I ordered the Snoring Bear Omelet and when it arrived in perfect timing and that was with 4 other people in there and I believe there is seating for 14-16 places, outside is so much more seating on a deck outside. My food was better than I could have imagined, the egg omelette was the best I ever had and the biscuits?, oh my God, I thought I died and went to heaven. The sausage gravy? I thought I made the best and I see I need to practice some more. Never had cheese on hash browns before but I think the chef just changed my mind. The meals have options to them, you have a lot of choices. The Service was delightful, she mention to some other people that she works 6 days a week, I am glad she does because she was a HIT there. If I could move that place close to me I would be Fat and Sassy. Looking to move that way and if it happens I intend on being some what of a regular. Thank you Snoring...

When we first walked in the building it was filled with smoke from cooking. Someone came out and said we could be seated anywhere, so we went outside to eat. We first sat at the picnic tables until my husband pointed out the hundreds of tiny bugs all over it. We then went up on the deck to sit and our waitress took our drink order. There were bugs on the wooden rail up there as well everywhere. We both ordered the snoring bear burger. My husband really liked it. I liked the hamburger patty itself, but with everything else on it I couldn’t eat it. My fries tasted like they were out of a frozen bag and were heavily seasoned. I couldn’t hardly eat those either and I’m not really a picky eater. My cup of water had stuff floating in it as well. The view was nice of the pond, but that’s about it. The building is very run down and everything around it seems a bit junky. My husband went inside to pay and seen a baby roach on the wall in daylight which means there’s probably many more. I definitely would not eat here again. I will say the staff was very kind and kept our drinks refilled and checked on us often. But the system they have it very unorganized. They need a sign to let customers know to be seated instead of wandering around not knowing what to do. And we didn’t know if we had to wait on a ticket or...
