I've been here twice now. Both times it was good, not great. To begin with the positive, the restaurant itself, the view, and the decor is top notch. It's one of the most aesthetically pleasant restaurants I've ever been to. The service was average. We had a very young waitress, who seemed inexperienced. Typically if your glasses are empty the waitperson doesn't ask if you want a refill... also the food took a terribly long time to come out, with no explanation or acknowledgment that it's unusual to have to wait nearly an hour to get an entrée. Finally, the food. I gave it 3 stars. There were 4 of us. I ordered the special (salmon over rice) it was okay. Forgettable. Certainly nothing "special." My wife got the 6 oz. filet. Despite it being medium (she ordered medium rare) she loved it, and enjoyed every bite. The guy that was with us got the smash burger. He also loved his. His wife got the 10 oz filet, medium. It came out and looked like a charred brick. It was more than well done and tough. She couldn't hardly cut through it or chew it. She had to send it back, and for a $50 steak I don't blame her. When she finally got her new steak it came back medium well (still over cooked, but better) and she said it tasted a lot better and it was much more tender, so she was happy. We also had to request to be moved from our table because the party of 10 table beside us had the rudest, loudest, most vulgar, unaware individual literally yelling the entire time, to the point we couldn't even hear each other talk. Even after we moved, it was better, but still obnoxious. Even the tables beside us after we moved were commenting to us that he was loud to them (on the other side of the room facing the opposite direction). All in all, we were with friends and had a nice time for that reason. But the food and service were MEH. I've been there before and the food was a little better, but the service wasn't great that time either. From my experience, if you want to go to a restaurant that has beautiful scenery, and don't mind paying more than the food and service are worth to get that view, it's a good place. But if you're expecting a great meal, and great service, you're probably going to be...
Read moreTo start the communication of the staff was not very good. The hosts seemed lost and contradicting each other about the wait so we went to leave and one came running after us saying had a table ready. We were here about a WK ago party of 16 drove 2 hrs on bikes to be put out on the patio with no shade. One of us is on medication that specifically says to stay out of sunlight so wasn't ideal. Our server was not very attentive had to wait for a while for drinks to the point some just ordered straight from the bar. Those of us not drinking alcohol just had to bear with it because once we ran out it was a good twenty mins before refilled. One star goes to the bartender who made those with drinks happy, maybe a bit to much though warning signs that they had had to much was apparent but the staff didn't notice. Appetizers came out and most were missing their chicken to go with their nachos. Entrees came out and those who had ordered specialty hold this hold that's were wrong but after waiting so long no one wanted to send back to wait again. I had the club sandwich, which pictures online were deceiving there was hardly anything on it besides lettuce or bacon. My spouse had what was supposed to be a chicken cutlet (was the smallest most unappetizing piece I'd ever seen)and roasted veggies(bland no seasoning), no mention it came with another side so he was served mashed potatoes (due to his diet can't even eat it) server should be trained to let ppl know the options that come with meals like that so ppl can make changes to fit their dietary needs. Those who had the burgers said they were good as did the ones with pizza. All in all would have to say the food was not worth the drive with all of the other options around that area. The view was amazing so the other star goes for location. The last star was for the manager who did get our table ready so he wouldn't lose out on the over $1k that we brought in that day. The loss of stars goes to the horrible waiter we had. Being in this industry knowing what she was making off our table the service was not worth what she made off of us she didn't even make sure everyone was enjoying the meal only came by to bring refills around when she...
Read moreNever thought I'd be the person to leave a bad review but here we are..This place just screams tourist trap to me. Went here on a Sunday evening to have a nice anniversary dinner with my husband. Was excited for beautiful views with what looked like a great menu. However, told by hostess there's a table with a view(what we had requested) and then sat on the back row of patio. When asked if we could sit at the front row where there were 7 out of 10 tables available we were told they were all reserved.(fair but disappointing) we then proceeded to wait 15 mins and watch 3 tables be sat, greeted and served drinks before we were acknowledged. Again disappointing but we are forgiving people who work in the food industry and thought they may just oversat someones section. Once we are greeted and given our drink orders it takes another 10 mins before we are able to order our appetizer. (At this point we should've left) but again tried to give grace thinking maybe things would turn around. Finally ordered our entrees after having been seated for a total 35 mins and noticed at this point not a single "reserved" table had been used. By the 50min mark we get our food. I ordered the so called marinated ribeye which was suppose to be cooked medium and was very much well done had zero seasoning and my fries were soggy and luke warm. Got my "pre entree" salad with my meal for half of it to be brown and wilted. My husband got the elk burger medium well which was also welldone with luke warm fries. 100+ dollar tab for non seasoned over cooked food and mediocre table service and not even a nice view to look at because apparently you can't seat a reserved table and hour and a half before its even used(we left with 6 front row reserved tables still unused)Mind you it was insanely slow easily 15 tables used in the entire restaurant at the time we were dining..Would've said something to a FOH manager but theres was no one in sight. So if you're driving quite a ways to have a celebratory dinner do not waste your time. And if you're a craft beer fan you will be disappointed to know that "brewery" is not what this restaurant should have in the title...
