Kountry Kitchen — Restaurant in Teutopolis

I did my research, read the reviews, and was excited to try this place. It was difficult to find parking. The sign in the window said closed even though their online hours had them open for another hour. People were coming and going. I waited for nearly 10 minutes watching the staff bustling around clearing off tables, taking orders, or checking customers out at the register. None of them even acknowledged me. I know they were busy, but it's just common decency to greet someone and let them know they'll be with you when they can. The prices looked great, and clearly this place draws a crowd, but I walked out, and won't be back because I live hundreds of miles away. 2 stars for the staff working hard and staying busy, but overall, very disappointed in the lack of attention...

2023: great fried chicken and roast Turkey Manhattan!! Probably the MOST DELICIOUS coconut merengue pie EVER! Cherry pie wonderful also. It felt like my moms kitchen when they also served red jello with fruit- lol, haven’t had that in years and it was cold and very tasty. 2 granddaughters and I went there for lunch today. Food was really good as was the service!! Fried chicken was available (didn’t have to wait 20 min)! And our bill was just $15.98….for all three of us! *They don’t take credit/debit cards, it’s cash or a check! But it was the atmosphere that we really loved.
