Started off a little weird, not busy inside, but we waited at least 5 minutes for the person at the front was helping someone on the phone and then a guy placing an order to go. We just wanted to be seated, no one else was there to help her. Once seated the server was great, just that initial delayed the process. We were heading to the airport and the one with us was also headed somewhere afterwards. 3 of us ordered sweet tea, my first taste, like crazy amounts of sugar. I had to dilute by adding 1/3 of the glass into a full glass of water and seems still too sweet. Like more than chicken express. The ribs were like spot on! Crazy tender great flavor, bite right off the bone. Brisket excellent smoke, nicely tender, not enough flavor for my taste, but nice bark, nicely moist. I'm not a fan of either of their BBQ sauces, too tangy for both styles. Pulled Pork was my wife's favorite nicely moist tender and good flavor. Excellent Jalapeno Sausage, tender with great flavor and heat with big pieces of cheese and sliced perfect size. Related to the sides, green beans were good, not too seasoned as they were for our 11 month old grandson. Fried okra had great flavor and fried perfectly. Really good corn or the cob. And also approved by our grandson. Onion rings were a little tough, very crunchy but that the way they do them. My son-in-law said his CFS was good, not the best he's had but good. Mac&Cheese was good and I’d usually not say that when they use the canned cheese but this was pretty good. . You can't please everyone and certainly they have so many things on the menu it's hard to do great at all of them. I was almost as excited to try the dessert as the BBQ, as I friend told me about this place and I had looked it up online ahead of time. The front board doesn't have all of the items. They do have several other things on the menu. Like Salads, and 3-4 more kinds of desserts. I'm a huge Bread Pudding enthusiast and this one not that impressive. Was warmed and had a bit of an orange flavor, but the Cinnamon Roll Cheesecake could be completely worth the trip. I'd come back for sure and try something different things and other cheesecake flavors

Thank you so much for resolving our issue. God Bless. I've been looking forward to this place for a while. Like most Great Barbecue Joints when it's all gone, it's all gone. So I didn't get to try all the things. I ordered the Sweet Potato with turkey and a 2lb family meal. Tater fixins are good. The Turkey. All 2lbs and 1/4 for the potato is definitely so hard on the outside edge it is inedible. It felt like razor blades slowly going down! Hours! Im from Austin. I just spent my 2 1/2 hour drive trying to digest the bite I tried to chew and Did Not spit out. My esophagus burns. My stomach aches. For at least an hour, I felt razor blade scraping slowly, going down to my stomach. Sharp pains. Burping. It's similar to a dry heave. I can not throw up because I have a hiatal hernia repair. Now I feel sharp pains in my stomach, and my esophagus burns when i swallow. The sharp edges and dried out skin of the smoked turkey feels like hard plastic. My 40 + years of food service is wondering why one would sell me inedible food. I mentioned to the cashier (Shift Lead ) that it was hard and not good her thoughts..." It's the end of the night," What I heard is I paid full price for old overcooked food that caused me great pain and discomfort for 3 hours now. I am worried I could bleed... in the process of this digestion. I spent over $107, including a $17 tip. Why would you not just cut the bad part off? Charging me for all those pointy edges and thick "skin"... I would really like a refund for this . It's a waste of my money. If it's not Safe to eat. Don't sell it. "IT'S THE END OF THE NIGHT" is not very Honorable. I tried to resolve my issue at the location. Very disappointed. From the look of the other reviews, selling old food has become a problem.

Now Siri recommended this location as I was arriving in the area, I was hungry and figured I’d give it a try. It’s located just off of 287 and out by itself. I noticed the parking lot was full and it was about 4pm on a Sunday. Upon entering the building I was politely greeted and escorted to a table. The restaurant was clean, had a nice atmosphere, and smelled nice. Of course with bbq cooking how could it not smell good! You order from your table and a waitress/waiter will bring you your food. I ordered the brisket and pepper sausage with a tea and lemon! Everything was excellent including the buttered toast. I was pleased with the service completely! I did notice that my brisket was quite fatty and requested a more lean cut, which was promptly brought out to me. If you prefer the lean cut, I recommend requesting that up front. The beef and beans are excellent as well, I was pleased with my visit and will return to add more photos later in the week. I ate so fast, I forgot to photograph my meal first. The bbq sauce was good, it comes in little squirt bottles with two different flavor options. I usually prefer warm sauce, but it was good nonetheless. At the end, I paid at the table with an electronic gadget that the waitress had with her. The price was great for the quality of food and service! Stop on in for a great experience, friendly staff, and excellent food. āļøāļøāļøāļø

Well, thanks to my daughter and son-in-law, I've discovered a new favorite for Barbecue! Bluebonnet Barbecue is truly a great " Hole in the Wall " restaurant! Tucked away between Waxahachie and Ennis, I would have never known it was there. Speeding down Hwy.287 between the two expanding little Metropolises, you wouldn't think there could be " One of the Best Little Barbecue Houses in Texas "!! LoL! ( pardon the pun !) It was my first visit, and believe me, it won't be my last ! All the Barbecue is " Slow Smoked " by one of the best " Master Grillers " in Texas they tell me. And like they say, " The Proof is in the Pudding "! Which by the way, they're Bread Pudding is to Die For !! 🤤🤤 My first Session ( that's right, I said session, cuz I plan to have more, lol) was my favorite, Chopped Beef with Mac-n-Cheese with bacon bits in it. Omg, Excellent!! The Chopped Beef was smoked to perfection and as tender as it could possibly be! And plentiful! I couldn't finish it off!! The Mac-and- cheese with the bacon bits was creamy and flavorful! Yum !! My wife had the " The Stuffed Baked Potato, with Chopped Barbecue beef, and she couldn't finish hers either. These wonderful people are truly not ashamed of they're Barbecue cuz they're not afraid to share plenty of it with you ! They're plates are worth what you pay ! And you don't find that too often today ! Nearly everyone else, which there were 5 of us, had something different. I managed to sneak a little piece of Barbecue Pepper Sausage here, and some Smoked Turkey Breast there, and was very delighted with it all ! " Lucky Me ", right ! LoL! ( good thing I have a sharing family šŸ˜‰) And as for the service ? Well, you couldn't get a better server than " Angelina "!! Cuz that's what she was, an "Angel "! Always there for us, asking what she could do for us and always keeping our cups filled ! I couldn't have asked for a better first time experience ( Session, lol) ! So the next time your flying down Hwy. 287 between Ennis and Waxahachie, slow down and be on the lookout for Bluebonnet Barbecue! ( it's on the north side of Hwy. 287) Stop by and try it out, you won't regret it !! ( you might even see me there on my second, or third, or whatever...

The service is bad, they don't listen to you, they don't look you in the eye, they don't greet you when you walk in. they give you what they want instead of what you order, the potato chips where expired, no napkins in my to go bag. They are too interested in their personal phones and social media. The food is good but the service is bad, I would rather go to a restaurant and get good service even if the food is just mediocre. I won't be back any time soon.

I had to stop by last week and give them another try.

I stopped in this past Thursday just before 2pm, the place was not that busy. The girl asked me if I was dining in or placing an order to go. I said that I would be dining in today so she escorted me to a table. She sat me down at the closest table to the meat cutting area where several employees were congregating and talking about everything but business. They walked by my table several times as well as the girl who sat me at the table. Long story short I waited until 2:30 before I made the decision to get up and leave since no one had even bothered to ask me what I wanted to drink. No one in the building acknowledged me. I have never had to do this at any restaurant before. As I was walking past the girl at the front I had told her what happened and she just literally laughed about it. The food is very good but I will not go to any place that has as poor service as Bluebonnet BBQ. I usually get my orders to go, but every time I always get something that I did not order, that was the reason for dining in. Well I left there and went to another restaurant where the food is not as good but the service is outstanding. I'm sorry, but you will never see me set foot in your place again. I did not even mention the times before when I was ridiculed for my name. My name is Daryl, they kept referring to me as...
