This was my 2nd time eating food from there. I decided to do takeout today since it was easter sunday. Today I tried the chicken fried steak. When I opened the box my 1st thought was OMG THAT'S HUGE ! BUT upon further inspection my thought was OMG LOOK HOW THIN he pounded this meat. It must be someone with anger mgmt issues. Because it was pounded down so thin THIS caused it to LOOK like a big piece of meat. ANYTIME the CRUST is THICKER than what's inside you should be eating a pastry. All that is happening here is that your eating TWICE the amount of greasy fried crust which can send you to the ER with gallbladder issues. So as I was about to feed the rest of my greasy chicken fried steak to the dogs, I lifted up the paper to FIND what I thought was a raw dinner roll. But as I picked it up I realized it was a clump of mashed potatoes. So this is suppose to be a hangout for the locals to go drink and the seasonal crowd enjoying Lake Whitney. My suggestion would be go drink but eat BEFORE you go. * To ADD to my review IS the FACT my review HAS been posted for SIX ( 6 ) months and not ONE view ! THAT IS a 1st and tells you how BAD the place is.

Not your typical resort. No check in or checkout desk. . I checked in at the bar. Wonderful atmosphere in restaurant/bar. Rented a single bed cabin. It was attached to 2 other cabins (shared a porch) but that wasn't an issue. Cabin was very clean but bathroom is tiny and contains the only sink in the room. Blackout curtains would be a huge plus because the mini blinds allowed the parking lot lights to illuminate the room. Again, these are just minor things. They apparently have a water park which isn't open yet, and they are building an awesome castle for events. Too cool to enjoy the pool that was right beside our cabin. We would like to return in warmer weather.

Love the atmosphere here! Homemade food was good! Try the ginormous onion rings! Homemade ranch dressing. I had the 3 pc broasted chicken which comes with 2 sides and 2 rolls! It is a sharing portion! Even split a side salad which was plenty for two people! It was only $12.95!!! Our server was so sweet! I only took a photo of the cool chandelier because once my food came I was distracted. My honey had the Chicken Fried Steak which was huge! This business is a Resort: Hotel, Restaurant and Bar. Great Texas feel! Close to Lofer’s Bend West Campground. Run up for dinner and enjoy it!

I was very disappointed with the service my friend and I received at your restraunt Sunday evening. We arrived at approximately 7:30pm. First, we sat at the bar for a few minutes and was totally ignored. We decided to go back and stand by the door and ask for "table". Ater a couple of minutes , finally a young girl came up to seat us. We asked for a table, she instantly tried sitting us at a booth. We asked our waitress for water and a mararita each and to please bring the water right away because we were hot from riding our bikes. The lady finally brought our water and asked if we wanted to order an appetizer. We ordered chips, cheese and salsa. When she brought them back we place our food order (off of the appetizer menu) we ordered 2 orders of boneless wings and 1 order of onion ring. They had a large party that was sitting close to us and they were receiving their meals as we ordered ours. We sat talking and eating our chips for a while and realized it was taking a long time to just get wings and rings. The waitress came by and was flipping her book and stoped and said she was sorry but she had forgotten to turn our order in. We asked for more salsa while we waited and she said she would put a rush on the meals. She brought out the salsa and more chips about 5 minutes later. After about another 20 minutes we were still waiting. She came around again and we asked why it was taking so long. She went to the kitchen and then brought our food. By this time we had filled up on chips and dips and we couldn't eat the whole meal. When she brought out our tickets, together it was approximately $50. We sont mi d pzying for what we ordered but this was for 2 margaritas chips and salsa ( they charged more for extra salsa) chicken wings and an order of onion rings. I asked to speak to the manager, she said ok but he was also the cook and it may take a few minutes. To me, a few minutes is 10 at the most! We waited a while and she came back and said she took the onion rings off and bragged that it was $5. I said WOW and just shook my head. I told her we still wanted to speak to the him. We waited and waited and he never came out. She gave the excuse he was cooking for a large party. At this time, the ONE large party that was there were just lingering and exchanging gifts and were leaving little by little. There were 3 other tables taken. One table had a couple that were already eating, the other had 4 people and were just getting their orders taken by a different waitress and another table of 2 just waiting. We were at the restaurant for an hour and a half for a 30 minutes stop, tops! We were furious to say the least! I asked the waitress where this big party was and she tried using the excuse of the one that was now leaving. So, if this is how your company treats PAYING guests then you're doing something wrong. I would think that the manager could have taken a lousy 2 minutes out of the kitchen to address a problem. I will say this, neither of us will ever step foot in your establishment again. We both live in Waco and travel to, and stay at the lake quite often. So...I dont know if they had to kill and clean the chickens before they were cooked or what, but this was our first and LAST time to eat at the restaurant. Very...

VETERAN ALERT Disclaimer, I’ve never left a bad review before because I’m an owner myself and wouldnt want it done to me but I’ve never seen anyone treated like this before and don’t want it happening again. I would like to ask all veterans to not eat at this establishment. On the 4th Of July my boyfriend and myself went to this restaurant. My boyfriend just so happens to be a Veteran who owns an extremely well behaved service dog. We asked if it was okay to bring our service dog outside patio table and the friendly manager said of course (to reiterate, the patio, not inside). My family grew up in this town and my grandfather built and owned a a few of the few business that are actually in this town, which made this even more displeasing to see how veterans are being treated here. These are the events that transpired next. We were bringing the dog to the patio table and The owners best friend or good friend who doesn’t even work there (we found out later) started yelling that he was “head of security” in front of everyone that he was not welcome and to leave bc no dogs are allowed. He was yelling and so mad and begin to berate us in front of all the other customers. I’ve never have seen someone so explosive or rude for no reason. He didn’t ask in a nice manner or say it quietly. Our waitress was so kind and because of how rude we were treated by that guy we were told the next time we came in, the food would be free but we won’t be back. We both live in Ft. Worth, and have zero ties to this restaurant. We are both well established business owners that don’t complain or leave bad reviews but this was horrible and so embarrassing and out of all days, the 4th of July, was not one to kick a veteran out for having a service dog outside laying...

The window blinds are tattered so we were seated with the sun directly in our eyes. Asked to move and our server moved us to a large table. Hostess then came over and told us we couldn't sit there. "This table is reserved". We were made to feel like we did something wrong. Server took drink order then disappeared for 12 minutes. I set my phone on the table with a stopwatch app after the first 6 minutes! When drinks came she saw the phone and apologized several times, then left for another 10 minutes. When she came back we had to ask for a kids menu, ordered appetizer and meal all at the same time in case we never saw her again. At this point we looked around the room and saw 3 tables with angry looking guests who we trying to get anyones attention to bring their checks! We could hear and feel the tension in the room. We counted 6 servers, hostess, bartender, so staffing wasnt the problem. It was 24 minutes when the appetizer came out. 40 minutes when main dishes came out. Food was good though. It was all you can eat catfish night and one at our table had ordered it. We were left alone with our food for 20 minutes before the server came back. We asked for a catfish refill, drink refill two to-go boxes and the check all at the same time. The fish refill took another 10 minutes. We boxed it, paid and left after 1 hour, 56 minutes, but...
