The Food was bland and over cooked. Ordered a 12in combination and the hamburger meat was over cooked and completely unseasoned. The "Italian sausage" was clearly bought cheaply because it tastes like dog food. The portions were massive and they loaded the pizza up however which was good, but it's clearly to make up for the lack of flavor and resulted in the pizza being served in a oily soup. The combination comes with roughly 10 toppings and it's all piled in the middle and all I could taste with each bite was anchovies and jalapeno sure to the over cooked ingredients and lack of seasoning. The service was just as bad. The host was my first red flag walking in because he look clearly annoyed that me and my wife walked in, and I got to see the same expression 2 more times as 2 other groups walked in behind us in our 10min wait. The group ahead of us waiting looked like they had been waiting longer on the same host that was lazily walking around. The waitress we got at the table was nice, but it was a older woman who clearly wasn't going to go above and beyond, which is understandable, but average is average. The atmosphere was nothing but business propaganda and pictures of the owner all over the place. Hard to feel like I'm welcome, or its a family oriented environment when it's clearly all about Bruno, his family, all of the businesses that support him/he supports, and 15 versions of over priced spaghetti and "Italian sandwiches" like: Ham & cheese, Turkey, and Cheese to name a few. Half the tables where dirty and full of plates and the restaurant was not even that busy. You walked into the establishment and you knew who the bums were and who was actually keeping the store running and that's just a shame. I will not be returning anytime soon nor would I recommend anyone come here unless you WANT spaghetti because they have 15 VARIATIONS OF IT AND WILL NICKEL AND DIME YOU BASED ON THE SPECIFIC VARIATION!?!? Also, $3 too substitute/add Alfredo!? Just tell me your gonna...
Read more(Edit from 5 stars , 4 years ago to 1 star). Been eating brunos the last 25 years. Arrived at 815pm. Man on outside porch glaring at myself, my 64 year old sister and 2 small kids. We enter restaurant. Man walks inside to seat us looking at watch. I ask the man if we can eat or is it too late? He rudely says he was speaking to his employee. This guy proceeded to seat us at a tiny table that suited him right by the kitchen. I am 6'5" and 350 lbs. I asked to be moved to a bigger table. Man said rudely "that section is closed" ( one table over from the pack of people they had piled in top of each other) he sat us at another 5 top. Fine. Then he hurriedly asked us what we would have to drink like we were in some bar. My sister and I were really taken a back st this guys behavior. We didn't feel welcome and were treated very rudely. I could go on and on, but to say the least we didn't feel welcome, and we were hurried in and out. We ate as fast as we could because we could tell they were trying to get done in there. We ate and were gone by 8:50. I didn't even order what I wanted because of the guys attitude because I just wanted to eat and go. I have quit coming to this location since Jay died. This is why. The food isn't as good for one. My calzone hardly had anything inside it, was slightly burnt and was mostly bread. I usually got to Vine location because it's better food and you don't have some snarky person to have to deal with. They still act like they appreciate your business. We didn't go to Vine last night because they close at 8. We live 25 minutes from this location. We will not be back and I will tell as many people as I can about what happened here.seems to me the old Jacksonville location has too much business....
Read moreOur experience at this this Bruno's location left much to be desired, especially in comparison to the charm of the old Bruno's that we loved. Our visit on Saturday, 01/27/24, was plagued with issues right from the start and unfortunately continued to disappoint.
Upon arrival, we were met with a less-than-efficient hostess. Despite the evident crowd in the lobby, she estimated a 10-minute wait without bothering to take our name. As time dragged on, the lobby filled up, and the hostess seemed to vanish. Meanwhile, available tables remained unoccupied, and servers engaged in casual conversations.
After 30 minutes of waiting, a group of four was seated ahead of us, though they arrived later. Feeling overlooked, I approached the hostess table, only to be noticed when she inquired about a different party. Finally, almost 40 minutes into our wait, we were seated.
Our server, a young and pleasant individual, tried his best, but unfortunately, he misinterpreted my wife's order. Despite our hunger, we accepted the mistake. The billing process was another hiccup, as we were initially overcharged, though it was rectified promptly.
Returning to the hostess to settle the bill, I stood directly in front of her without acknowledgment. Eventually, after a few minutes, she attended to us. While we don't believe her intentions were malicious, it was apparent that she requires more training to enhance her performance.
In summary, the new Bruno's fell short of our expectations, marred by an inefficient hostess, a server's oversight, and billing discrepancies. We sincerely hope the establishment addresses these issues for a more enjoyable dining experience...
