Walked in the restaurant and was told we'd have a 15 minute wait, and they would text us when they were ready to seat us. Didn't want to wait outside, so we moseyed on over to the shuffle board next to the bar area. We played for roughly 40 minutes before asking the waitress what was taking so long cause people were being seated that walked in after us. She proclaimed they had forgotten about us, and gave us a table in the bar area full of extremely noisy people. 10 minutes later, somebody showed up to ask us what we wanted to drink. They returned another 10 minutes later with our tea and sodas. Asked us what we wanted to eat, took our orders, and left. One. Whole. Hour. Went by. Our food arrives just as we're talking about how we should have eaten somewhere else. Plates are served, and the food was wrong on 2 Plates out of 4. We told the waitress who served us, and she pretended she didn't hear a word we said. The 2 people who ordered Steak to be cooked different ways, received them way over or under what they described. The person across from me had the salmon, and their meal was quite divine. I ordered the sausage sandwich, and it was beyond cold. We "ate" our meals, got 2 refills on our drinks in the hour and a half that we sat there waiting for our cups to be filled, and decided after a while that none of our food was edible except for the Salmon. We got up from our table after about 20 minutes of waiting for our waitress to show up with our ticket, and decided to look for her. We found her chatting with another employee just disregarding the fact she was working and on the clock whilst avoiding her duties. We asked her for the check, gave her the money and made for the exit without a "thanks" or "come back and see us again" of any kind. We spent $76 for someone to eat salmon, and the rest of us get inedible food. Worst customer service, terrible environment, (they won't control the crowd from getting beyond rowdy even if the customer is shouting), horrible "food". I'm going to forget this place exists it is such a waste of time and money. Before anyone asks, I didn't complain about my food being cold because I didn't want to wait another hour for someone to put sausage, BBQ, and onions on a bun! I rate this place a huge fat ZERO. I could have eaten at McDonald's and left WAY...

First of all the guy bartender has no personality, we got our first round, then the other bartender which was a girl, got my husband another drink, but when my beer was empty I waited on a beer for about 10 mins, there were only 8 ppl at the bar area, so no reason that I should have had to wait for another beer. We ordered the sausage sandwich with onion straws and a house salad. The sausage was burnt and the salad was wilted and disgusting. The bartender showed the manager, he looked at the food, but never came over to apologize. They took the salad off, but the fact of the matter is that the manager needs a lesson in proper manager skills. My husband is here in Lubbock working for a few months, and we really liked the atmosphere of the place, which reminded us of a place back home near Houston, texas called The Garage. The bartender said he would tell the owner, whose name is Missy. Missy never came to talk to us, but a really nice gentleman did come over, we explained how disappointing the experience was, and how the manager failed to do his job. We said we would pay our full tab, that was not the issue. We just needed to tell someone abouy the manager and how displeased we were with the service. Whomever this gentleman was, he was very nice, he addressed the issue by comping the food. Although, we weren't looking to have that done, but we certainly appreciated his promt attention to the matter, as well as him saying to us that sorry couldn't even cover the experience we had just been through. All we wanted was the acknowledgment that things were not handled properly so that it wouldn't happen in the future. Thank you so much to the gentleman that took care of the problem, to him I...

Before I get into my review of Cooks Garage, I want to highlight that all the bands performing did an AMAZING job. This particular experience was on April 9, 2022 at the Flatland Calvary concert.

Cook’s was an absolute logistics nightmare. Starting off the night there was not nearly enough parking for as many tickets that they sold, most people were parking in obscure places on the side of the road. Then having to stand in line to get wristbands and scan our code to get inside was a 30-40 minute wait.

The worst part of our entire experience though was inside waiting at their “full” bar. My group waited for 55 MINUTES to move 100 feet to get drinks. Once at the front, we ordered drinks and my friend teased MY drink choice to another member of our party (it was all fun and lighthearted). The woman bartender on the far left then started verbally berating my friend with profanity for her “bad attitude” and swore at her to get out of her line. The bartender turned a nonissue into a completely unwarranted outburst with her horrid judgement. Reminder this is all after waiting in line for nearly an hour just to receive drinks.

While the bartender lost all professionalism with a client that did not deserve it (I understand some do), I don’t place the blame completely on her. Cook’s Garage failed their staff and clientele with not providing enough staff for the evening. Our party missed a grand total of an hour and a half of the show because of the lines.

I’ll never attend another event at Cook’s Garage because of the disrespect shown to my party. For the sake of future attendees I hope Cook’s...

I love visiting place that completely assaults my senses, especially the visual component. Cook’s Garage does just that. It put me in sensory overload. There is so much eye candy here to absorb that it’s easy to lose track of time, and completely overlook the food and beverage component of the service offering. Cook’s Garage is simultaneously concert venue (both indoor and outdoor), restaurant, bar, and museum (both outdoor and indoor). It occupies several acres on Lubbock’s south side, and is one of the premier US collections of neon, gas station pole signs, and porcelain signs you could ever hope to see in one place. And as a side note, you can eat and drink here too, although it’s easy to overlook that while perusing all of the countless collectibles here to see. Lots of distractions! I was fortunate to meet Rusty’s glass bender, a woman named Rebecca, who has done the majority of the neon restorations here. She does amazing work, bringing the signs back to their former glory, including all the chaser bulbs and animations. My jaw dropped many times. I had a basic lunch while here. I am not one for standard pub food, but that’s OK if it’s your jam. My server was extremely polite and methodical in making sure I was happy with a basic salad of greens and veggies, along with a baked potato. A couple of Hopadillos helped wash it all down. You can’t come here expecting to eat and run. Nope. There’s waaaaay too much to see and appreciate, and Mr. Cook has done a yeoman’s job of assembling a top tier collection and making it accessible to the masses. Bravo! I will be back!

The atmosphere is great! There are all kinds of vintage gas and garage signs to look at as well as vintage cars. The wait staff did a good job as well. Please understand that I’m not one to complain but the shrimp tacos were absolutely horrible. First, there were only 3 small shrimp in each taco. Second, notonly were they tasteless and cold but the corn tortillas were stale and tore, causing my food to fall through on all 3 tacos when I first picked them up. I asked for new tortillas and they were clearly pulled from the same package and brought to me straight from the package. These tacos were as far from Mexican food as one could get. One of my first thoughts was, “I can literally get better and more authentic taco in New York from someone who has never had real Mexican food.” To the restaurants credit, I tried a bite of pizza from a friend who was with me and it was pretty good. That and the waitress are all that kept me from giving my experience a 1 star. Am I saying don’t eat here? Absolutely not. I am saying don’t order their tacos as it was a waste of $12. Will I eat here again? Yes I will. And if the food is bad again, it will be my last time.

If Radiator Springs (from Cars movies) came to life, it would look like Cook's Garage. My family and I were on a road trip and wouldn't arrive until 9:45pm on a Saturday night while a concert was going on. We called ahead to order for takeout to make sure we could get food. Talked to Summer and she was extremely helpful. By the time we got there the dining room had opened up, and we were able to change our to-go order to be able to eat at the restaurant. We sat in Summer's section and she was an absolute delight. Everything on our order was 100% and cooked right. We had been looking forward to eating here after a recent article in the San Antonio paper that talked about Cook's being the new home to an iconic neon sign from the San Antonio Light (defunct newspaper). This was by far one of the highlights of our road trip.! Thank you, Summer, for excellent service.
