I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews but it’s definitely warranted in this case. I’m new to Houston and was in search of an amazing donut place to satisfy my PMS cravings…I looked up some of the highest reviewed donut locations in the area and “Donut Guys” popped up, I looked at their photos and the donuts looked decent enough, but, I was wary since in the past I’ve tried bakeries only to experience the stalest, driest, old donuts from the days before. (Donuts are calorically dense and expensive, they are an investment and a once-in-a-blue moon treat.) I wanted to be sure I was going to patronize a business that was delivering high quality pastries. So, I innocently called the bakery only to be met with one of the rudest interactions I’ve experienced in a long time. Unfortunately, the man who answered the phone (i’m assuming he’s the owner), seemed to have perceived my question “I was wondering if your donuts were your donuts baked fresh today☺️?” As disrespect to his business, and reacted by scoffing at me before replying, “I don’t know what kind of donut places you’ve been too that you felt the need to ask me that, like what kind of question is that?” Like, wow. Way to run off a potential customer dude, I wanted to give you my hard earned money and you basically called me an idiot? Sorry you’re not passionate about your bakery anymore, you sounded very displeased. Here is a more kindhearted response, these are called “customer retention skills,” since you clearly need to be taught these things.
“Hi Miss, thanks so much for inquiring about our donuts this afternoon, I take great pride in the fact that we make our donuts fresh every day! We’d love for you to come by and try them yourself 😁.”
See how much better than sounds? You still got your point across that your donuts are fresh, bro. But, without being a complete jerkwad about it?
Where did your passion go? Why are you so bitter? Figure it out and do better. Life is too short for that type of unnecessary aggression. Choose kindness, it’s one of the only free things in life. I hope you find peace Mr Donut Guy.

Read moreThis is the best donut place in Houston, period! The donuts are top notch quality! Martha and Carlos are the proud owners who really take pride in the place and making the best quality products and offering the most unique customer experience you can imagine! In these days of major chains dominating the market place it makes me so happy to visit this place and experience individual treatment that just leaves a smile on my lips as well as my daugther's, we simply love to support this type of business owned and operated by such wonderful people! Martha and Carlos have more than once spoiled us with a personal touch to the donuts injecting extra fillings or spread powdered cinnamon sugar on top. On top of this they also offer a wealth of other products of highest quality, including cronuts, kolaches and coffees ! Latest personal favorite of mine is their chorizo breakfast taco. My daughter mentions the Vietnamese iced coffee with extra sugar! We look forward to many more yummy treats, and have warmly recommend a visit to the Donut Guys to many...
Read moreWhoever the lady at the front is, really needs to work on her customer service skills. I asked for a coffee and this is my first time coming with my kids and she could have easily asked “ would you like it iced or hot?” She didn’t and when she brought it out, I stated “oh, it’s not iced?” She was rude and said “you never asked for it iced.” Which I responded to “I apologize, I didn’t know it was an option, can you please make it iced?” The look she gave me, I felt she probably spit in it! I worked in customer service as a waitress for 10 years and not everyone will know how your restaurant or place of business is set up. It would be nice to inform your customers, especially if they just asked for a special type of coffee. She could have easily stated hot or iced ma’am … Also the donuts were not fresh, I got my kids donut holes and they were hard. The best place for donut holes in my opinion and I will make the drive there next time is...
