Nicky Ds Crowley — Restaurant in Texas

It takes me about an hour and twenty minutes to drive to Nicky D’s in Crowley, TX. I know this because I had to do it twice. The first time I went I had their burger, made the waitress aware of this and then a gentleman stopped at my table and gave me some advice: “Order the burger and get the bun extra grilled on both sides with extra butter.” That was good advice.

My second time going to Nicky D’s far surpassed the first for that reason and I can say without a doubt that Nicky D’s deserves its spot on the map. I ordered the Bacon Jammer with the bun extra grilled with extra butter on both sides. I also ordered the Onion rings with the homemade ranch and a fountain soda because they have ICB on tap.

The onion rings were pretty good. Not the best but at least they were not the worst. The ranch really made those a lot better and I enjoyed them to the last ring.

The burger-OH! The burger! This burger couldn’t have been any more perfect unless they gave it to me for free. Almost crisp sear that perfectly captured that carbon flavor while holding all the fatty juices in, wonderful stretchy cheddar cheese on top, crisp bacon and the bacon jam that just brought it all together with the jalapeños. Add the extra buttery bun on either side, this burger was everything short of divine.

I cannot recommend a drive to Crowley for Nicky D’s enough as they have usurped the top spot for best burger in DFW from my perspective. 5/5

Walking in you are immediately greeted with warmth – you just instantly know you made the right choice by stopping in. And the folks who work there? They're just the best! So genuine and friendly, it really feels like they're genuinely thrilled to see you. This time, I was treating a few lucky folks (myself included!), and oh boy, did we feast! First up, the legendary Bacon Jammer. If you haven't had this beauty, you are missing out! It's this magical combo of a little spicy kick and a touch of sweet, all snuggled up with glorious bacon. I mean, come on, bacon makes everything better, right? Then there was my personal twist on a bacon egg cheeseburger (gotta have that egg fried hard – I will end up wearing it if not!) with some zesty grilled jalapenos and those squeaky, dreamy cheese curds. Mmm! We also grabbed a classic bacon cheeseburger with a side of crispy, delightful fried okra. Now, you might wait just a smidge for your food, but trust me, it's totally worth it because what arrives is pure, freshly cooked deliciousness. And while you're waiting, you can soak in the super cozy and fun vibe of the place. They've got all sorts of cool old records and knick-knacks that just bring back the best memories. Plus, the whole place is always clean, and there's tons of room to park your tush, whether you want to be inside or out in the fresh air. Everyone was so kind, attentive, and genuinely lovely, making us feel like part of the family from the moment we walked in. The owner, Tammy, is an absolute gem—her heart and passion for this place shine through in every detail. Her son, Trent, was just as amazing, going out of his way to ensure we had a great time. We all ordered bacon cheeseburgers with fries and corndogs, and let me tell you, they were hands-down the best we’ve ever had!
