I have never left a negative review for any place.. like.. ever.. BUT my boyfriend and I had a terrible experience here tonight. Our first date as a couple was at this restaurant. We have ordered there a couple times a month over the past year and a half. The food is almost always excellent, but pretty steep in cost. In honor of Valentines Day we ordered 3 Larry Specials. It is the same thing we get every time we order. Tonight they were burnt. All 3 of them. Which honestly.. it happens. A simple apology goes a long way. Instead, my boyfriend was told, “I don’t believe you. I cooked it perfectly. Send me pictures.” Disrespectful, right off the bat. We sent pictures of the blackened food and were called back be told, “It is not burnt. I’ll give you $1 back”. No offer for us to bring it back or otherwise. She started raising her voice and my boyfriend raised his back to tell her he doesn’t want money back. He hung up on her after saying some choice words. The guy calls back basically asking us to explain what the issue is. My boyfriend tells him it’s burnt. Look at the pictures. It smells burnt and it tastes burnt. He basically accuses us of lying and “in honor of Valentines Day we can get you $1 back.” My boyfriend snaps back at him and we decide to no longer eat there. Such a shame :/ The food hasn’t been as good as when we first started going there (2 wives before his current one a year ago..she was an amazing cook). We didn’t ask for money back. We didn’t even ask to replace it. We were accused of lying even after texting pictures of the burnt pieces. For someone who is constantly presenting themselves as a face of spirituality this guy sure could read up on pride and humility. What a disappointing Valentine’s Day dinner and situation as a whole :((

This little Mom and Pop restaurant is a bit off the main road in a residential neighborhood, so if you think your GPS is wrong... keep going. It was very clean and the owners were very pleasant. He said they used to be on 35, but built their own little place here. Now they don't have to worry about a lease. We went between lunch and dinner so we were the only ones there. Someone came for carry-out, so they must get some carry-out business also. There are only five or six tables, so it may be busy during meal times. We ordered crab wontons as an appetizer. Real crab and delicious! I had the sliced beef pho. She cooks the broth for 36 to 48 hours. Amazing!!! The sliced beef is ribeye, yum. They grow most of their own veggies right there in the yard (or inside in the winter). Everything was fresh made while we waited. Did I mention how AMAZING the pho was? OMG! My husband wasn't very hungry, so he got a grilled ham, cheese and egg sandwich. He said it was good. 😉 Most of the food is Vietnamese, but they also have hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, french fries, onion rings and more. We are looking forward to going back and trying everything on the menu! You have to give them a try, I'm sure you'll love it too!

This restaurant is the worst we have ever seen and tasted, the wonton was expired and smell so bad. I did not eat it and spitted it out , I saw an other review said that their food was so bad and expired, but the owner said that they make the food from scratch every day then why two families said the same thing? The worst was the owner did not give us tap Water instead he said we have to buy it . We should put him in jail , it’s illegal , when you sell food you have to give customers tap water by law. (Attached) I called the male owner but the woman without knowledge female owner said talk to me, I am his wife . We want to talk to the male owner, not the woman. We should put them in jail, did not give free water to customers .

May be good, but definitely not for pho (this is coming from a Pho fanatic who has been to Vietnam and to just about every pho place in the US). First I only give it 3 stars because I’ve only been there once and it’s due to the pho. Some say it’s the best they’ve ever had, but it makes me wonder if they just don’t get around much. God bless the owners, super sweet and as friendly as you could ask for. 2 problems. The first is price. Paying $12 for a very small portion of pho is like paying $6 for a single street taco. Pho is the soup of the poor in Vietnam. $2.50 for a small glass of tea and being charged $1.50 for a refill is a little much

Second issue is the pho is far from any authentic or traditional Vietnamese pho. The sprouts they use are alfalfa sprouts which have a very earthy and overbearing flavor (never used in any Asian food) compared to the bean sprouts typically used. Completely different texture and flavor. Also the pho comes pre done and you have no control over flavor or seasoning. It’s like getting coffee where the place you buy it decides how much cream and sugar you should have for you.

All of that being said, Mai fun and her husband are very sweet people. I will try them again, but will never order pho or recommend it. Pho NB has the real deal and portion and price are closer to what is considered authentic and normal. I would suggest people try it first so they have a better baseline of what it’s supposed to be and how it is...

This little mom and pop restaurant definitely exceeded our expectation. My family had a wonderful time conversing with the husband and wife duo that own this diamond in the rough and REALLY enjoyed the food we ordered. Owners were very friendly and accommodating, you can tell they put a lot of love in their food. We have a favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Houston, but this was on another level. Everything was extremely fresh and had such a homemade taste that I didn’t know I needed on this week long trip. They even grow most of the herbs and veggies they use in the dishes right outside. The homemade fish sauce was also very delicious. I recommend the egg roll noodle salad and the grilled chopped pork over rice!! This perfectly tiny restaurant was incredibly easy to find (we’re first time visitors to the area) and we will definitely be dining here the next time we’re in town to try the other items on the menu! If you’re looking for delicious, fairly priced, home cooked Vietnamese food THIS IS YOUR PLACE!

  • after reading the google reviews I would like to point out that this is VIETNAMESE and AMERICAN food. NOT “Asian”, Chinese, Korean, etc ...its VIETNAMESE. Also, if you’ve ever eaten home cooked Vietnamese food you will know that everyone makes their food differently. Egg rolls come in different sizes, broths have different spices, and different noodles are often used for pho. Not just vermicelli...
