Bearded blonde guy is incredibly rude to customers, as well as to his staff. His comments & tone of voice in all of his interactions were quite appalling, particularly given the current state of our economy... One would think he’d care a bit more about customer service & retention. The guy needs to go work somewhere with zero human interaction. After being chastised immediately upon placing my order for not calling it in ahead of time (5 lbs if meat apparently takes 45 minutes to prepare, while a whopping four customers are in the restaurant), and subsequently being lied to about the price of an advertised special having been raised “a week ago”, I obtained my credit card from the poor young clerk working the register before he charged it & made the short trek down 29 to the Wolf Ranch location where the advertised special was clearly posted (what do ya know, with no price increase) & the staff was beyond kind! Do yourself a favor and avoid the LH location — Worth a few extra miles to get treated with respect & courtesy (and not be blatantly lied to about prices) by choosing the Wolf Ranch location. I’ll never again give the LH location another dime of mine—And neither will my...

Smokey Mo's used to be a great BBQ restaurant. Last year the franchise was bought and is no longer family owned. First concern is related to varying food quality (sometimes brisket is too dry, portion control varies, differences in the wat the meat is cut, sausage fatties varies, etc).
Second, and arguably the biggest issue, is that the new owner/mgmt does not appear to either focus on quality nor on the customer. It used to be a friendly environment where employees appeared happy and the customers always left smiling. Now, the greetings are sparse, if at all. Very little smiling from employees - only "What's your order, Here's your order". The employees get irritated when you ask for something to be corrected. All of these human aspects are shown in the quality of the food. It does not appear that the employees take any pride in the food or in their service.
One shining employee a couple evenings ago, a female, was packing food. While she wasn't responsible for preparing the food, at least she made sure that the food was packed carefully...
Read moreMy dad and I had to run down to Austin a couple days ago and we stopped in at a Smoky Mo's BBQ and wasn't really expecting much but a decent sandwich or something quick to eat and we were quite surprised the sliced beef was darn good and moist and had a real good flavor, the sausage was good but a tab bit spicy. The potato salad was really good and the beans were okay nothing special about the beans.. It is a very clean place and super friendly and the restrooms were very clean, so I would say it was a very good choice for bbq if you are down in the Austin area, we stopped at the one out on hwy 183 heading towards Lampasas, they have other locations so I can't tell you about them but if they are like this one then if you are wanting some damn good BBQ and not spend all your money then this is your choice. Have a great...
