Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Texas

I placed an order of 2 drinks and one side using the Sonic app. It took 45 minutes to receive the simple order. People next to us who we're ordering larger orders got theirs before we did even though we showed up before they did. My wife had to wave down a carhop to get service. The carhop was confused and asked us if we pressed to order button on our stall, which we did twice but got no response. The carhop went back inside to find out where our order was and shortly returned with it.The recipient showed it had been received 45 minutes from us receiving it at that point. The side order of food was cold and soggy. How complex is an order of chili cheese tater tots that it warrents 45 minutes of prep? If my wife hadn't waved down the carhop I imagine the wait would have been longer. I worked at Sonic back in 1986 and 1987. We had no apps or smart phones but we never took 45 minutes to get out a simple order of 2 drinks and 1 side out. So much for "fast food" these days. As a young boy I even played in the pee wee league Sonic baseball team before the flimbsy, forgiving T-ball was introduced. I went only cause i thought it surely has gotten better since it first ordered oh boy was i wrong. It took long to get my order then it dawned on me i only had 30 in cash so i asked the young man to do the vash and put the other 5 dollars and change on my card. Comes back a minute later say we can't do that my manger just told me. I told him well i would have to go to atm little did i know it was out of order at the store next door luckly i went to the dollar General and bought a gum and got cash back and headed back to sonics to pay mind you i already had my order in the truck guess that had trust i would come back. So i paid 40.15 and my total was 35.14 so why did he come back with 4.85 who trains these kids to make change you would think it would be a requirement or just common sense. So we get home and my son tells me they did not even make his burger a bacon burger like i orderd All that and i couldn't even enjoy my burger either. Never will i go to this sonics again i will travel the extra 20 minutes to another one at least there i know i will be...

This has got to be the worst fast food restaurant I’ve ever been to. I’m sure they are short staffed like everywhere but this is just too much. I placed an online order to pick up at 7:10. I arrived at 7:08 and tried to check in online and it wouldn’t let me so I moved to a stall and told them I was here. They said “it will be right out”. I waited until 7:30 when someone tried to bring me another persons order and I told them my name. They of course said it would be right out. He came back at 7:40 and brought me half my order and said they didn’t have the blast I ordered and asked if I wanted something else. I ordered another one. I opened my chicken to eat and it was ice cold- I’m sure had been sitting there for 30 minutes while I was waiting in my car. I finished my chicken and had time to write my review and am still waiting for the replacement blast. Might come in another hour. Update. I did get the blast which was like 3 inches from the top from being full. Wow. I would have maybe made sure the replacement was really good...
