SteerBurger Grill & Grub — Restaurant in Texas

Arrived at Steer-Burger on Wednesday,August 13, 2025 at Lunchtime! Ordered a 1/4# Steer burger, $9.95 plus a Soft Drink and order of fries ($5.50). Total cost $16.73 with tax included. We have eaten here before and the Customer Service was as great as it was this day. The quality of Burger and fries not so much! My Burger was medium which was OK but it came in one big piece and one small piece. The French fries were of low quality and not one of the pieces was over 1.5 inches long! As usual we had to go to the bathroom to get paper towels as every time we have been there they appeared to be out. Very Disappointed! We don’t mind paying the current market price for a very good burger but today, We would have gotten better burgers and great Fries at Whataburger! The current Steer Burger was a step above Burger King and Sonic. PS: I have pictures of the food but was not able to post them.

My qualifications as an Expert and Experienced Food and Service Critic; I have over 65 years of Management Experience. I have a College Degree with a BS in Management and have been trained in two Culinary Schools, to include on the job training at other venues. I’ve managed full service as well as fast food restaurants and have had my own successful Catering business. As a Culinary Trainer, I have trained personnel on how to provide superb cuisine and sales and customer service. At the age of 78, I am now retired and enjoy being on the other side...

Our original review was only 4 stars, due to delay in service. We have since repeatedly returned, and they are definitely deserving of 5 stars. We now try to go out of our way when we can to eat here. Get the double patty for the full-on , dripping down your arms experience.

Original review: The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is the length of time it took from ordering to getting our food. They did serve with a smile and provided a homey experience. We opted for the simple cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese and fries. The food was terrific, way above your average burger. I'd expect their other offerings to be at least as good, if not better. We especially liked the char on the patty, and the fries were slender and crispy. Produce and bread were fresh. They had outdoor picnic tables for those of us with pets, and we were told they were going to make it more pet friendly soon. We expect to visit again, perhaps when we go kayaking; it's a very casual atmosphere, so we could come straight off the water and enjoy dinner.

UPDATE 10/22/19: They are still on the ball, and it's nice to eat indoors and to have fountain drinks instead of cans with their "new"...

Wow. Let's start with the customer service. Phenomenal the woman was very energetic and pleasant to speak with she answered questions and gave recommendations. We sat inside and it's a cool atmosphere they have music and TV outside seating and inside seating. But 7 minutes wait and our food was brought to us and it was incredible presentation. It was as high a quality burger as you can get the meat was grilled so perfectly cooked thoroughly yet so so so juicy and the bread was good. With an excellent choice of jalapeños onions both grilled to perfection . And glued together by a smokey melty cheddar cheese all finished off with some delicious bbq sauce . I not only recommend this place I would go a step further and say you HAVE to to give it a shot you owe it to your self to experience this. My 4 year old son almost finished an adult meal because he just couldn't stop eating it . We are going back for lunch...
