I have been wanting to try them out since they opened fairly recently.
After reading some reviews I thought I'd come in for lunch and have the salad and slice special. The reviewer posted a picture, and the salad and pizza looked great. My salad, though tasty, was not as full as the one I had seen in the review, and the greens were warm and limp. The flavor, however, was good. The pizza was ok. I thought the flavor of the sauce was good. Crust also tasted good, but was not crispy at all underneath the pizza. It was actually kind of soggy. If it was cooked a little bit more it would have been much better.
I also ordered a chicken parm sub. The bread was fantastic. Some of the best bread I've had in the area. The chicken cutlets were not good at all, and we're obviously from a factory. There was very little sauce, and the sandwich, as a whole, was very dry. I would not recommend it.
Overall a nice place with attractive decor and good location. It is fairly clean but I noticed that some of the tables were not wiped down with lots of crumbs and bits on them. I was there soon after they opened and hopefully this was just missed and isn't typical.
This place has lots of potential and I plan on coming back. I would like to try some other items and give the pizza another chance, since I did like the flavor of the sauce and crust.
Maybe I'll come in for the happy hour I saw advertised.
UPDATE... Made it back out to Village Pizza Co. with the family. Pizza was MUCH better this time. Love the crust. Tried the meatball sub and it was very good. Meatballs were nice and tasty. It would be difficult to eat this as a sandwich. I had to deconstruct it and eat the meatballs with a fork. The remaining bread with sauce and cheese was wonderful. My family enjoyed their items as...
Read moreAs local residents, we were excited to welcome Village Pizza Company to the neighborhood and eager to try their offerings. On 11/15, we placed a takeout order for a classic 18" Pepperoni pizza and two 'The Kitchen Sink' salads, totaling $49 before tax, tip, and fees. While the salads contained the expected ingredients, the portions of salami, pepperoni, mozzarella, and Parmesan felt minimal for the $14 price tag. The pizza itself could use improvement, as it had a light amount of sauce, minimal pepperoni, and a very crunchy crust that wasn't quite what we expected. Based on this experience, we decided we likely wouldn’t reorder the pizza or salads.
Despite this, we gave them another try, this time focusing on their sandwiches. Ordering was straightforward, although we weren’t provided with an estimated wait time, just a call-out system when the food was ready. While we encountered a small hiccup when trying to split payment with a Visa gift card (their system wasn’t set up for it), we understood this can happen with newer businesses. After waiting about 15–20 minutes, we received our order and headed home.
The Italian sandwich I ordered was very enjoyable and felt worth its $15 price. Unfortunately, my fiancé’s $15 Meatball sub had a hair wrapped around a meatball, which resulted in him discarding it—a disappointing experience.
On a positive note, the interior atmosphere and decor are welcoming and thoughtfully designed. While some elements of our meals didn’t meet expectations, we’re hopeful that as Village Pizza Company continues to grow, the food and experience will evolve. We appreciate having a local pizza business nearby and look forward to revisiting in the future to see how they refine...
Read moreWe have enjoyed Village Pizza for a while now but I was prompted to leave a review tonight because of a notable experience. Normally, I haven’t waited long for pizza here, even on the busiest of nights. I’m not sure what happened tonight, but we ended up waiting about 40 minutes and saw some pizzas that were ordered after us come out before ours. We initially blamed it on Friday night craziness, but around 30-35 minutes, I realized it had been longer than usual. In that same moment (as if they read my mind), the manager approached our table, apologized for the wait, and comped our pizza. I wasn’t expecting this but really appreciated it as we had our hungry one-year-old in tow, so we noticed the wait more with his dwindling patience. It ended up being a great lesson in patience for us as a young family, and the reward was delicious. Thank you, Village Pizza, for the great, thoughtful service amid a busy Friday night! I felt so seen as a mom, and this small act of kindness meant more...
