I ordered the Bacon, Mushroom and Swiss Burger with Gluten Free Bun and Fries. This was the worst meal I’ve ever had in my life. First, the mushrooms did not seem like food. They had the color of yellowish tan and were rubbery like they were fake mushrooms if there is such a thing. So disgusting. Second, the hamburger did not seem like beef. The texture wasn’t like beef and was flavorless and gray meat. Maybe it was mixed with soy??? I don’t know what that hamburger was mixed with but it was disgusting as well. Third, the fries were hard, dry and overcooked. Fourth, the gluten-free bun was also very dry. Halfway through my meal my stomach started feeling upset. Probably because of the strange meat. I picked the mushrooms off and threw them away. I had four bites (because I was starving from a long drive) of the entire meal and threw it all away. Had I not gotten it to go and left the area, I would’ve went back to the restaurant and complained. I don’t think I’ve ever been so grossed out and disappointed in a meal. I would never return to this place. One good thing, the male bartender that took my order was friendly and had good customer service. If I would’ve read the reviews for this restaurant, I never would have gone there. Unfortunately, it’s the only restaurant in town and for dozens of miles. I wish I would have went back and got a refund of my money. They should offer Pepto-Bismol with their meal because your stomach is guaranteed to be upset. Your pocketbook will be upset as well. I spent $16 for the worst Burger and Fry meal of my life. If I could give the review of this restaurant a...
Read moreHad the worst burger ever in my life from this place. We stopped here after a long day driving hoping to get some good food and we got the opposite.
My burger, a bacon mushroom swiss, was horrible. The meat was dry, the bacon was pale and raw, and I mean cold to the touch floppy raw with not a single bit of crisp to it. There was a strange white powder sprinkled all over my burger, I assume some kind of salt? Probably trying to cover the taste of their food. The mushrooms were disgusting, they had soaked up the taste of the raw bacon, which tasted somehow more like beef jerky than bacon. It's like they gave me some kind of dollar store bacon. I took one bite of the burger and had to spit it out. Not even slightly edible.
Both of our sodas were flat and flavorless and tasted more like dirty water than soda so ended up ordering water instead.
The only positive of the whole experience was the waitress, who was very friendly and later very apologetic after we decided to return our food and leave. Won't ever be eating here again, and certainly won't recommend it.
I am not kidding, if I could give zero stars I would. I have never been so thoroughly disgusted with food that I felt compelled to leave a...
Read moreStopped in for lunch around 2pm, hoping for some delicious bar food. The menu looked like they offered gourmet burgers, and at almost $15 a plate, that is what was expected. There was only one other couple in there, but not until after we ordered and got our drinks did the server inform us that they had a huge take out order and it would be awhile. This was fine as we were not in a hurry, but having a 3 year old with us I would think that is something worth mentioning. 45 minutes later we received our food. My mushroom swiss burger, well the mushrooms were not sautéed, and I believe the single slice of cheese was kraft or lucerne. Chicken strips reminded me of Tyson chicken heated in a tabletop oven, and the shoestring fries although they arrived hot, cooled almost right away because they were not fried correctly, you know, blanched and fried a second time to crisp the outside. Fries included dipping sauce, but for some reason we were charged for a side of ranch. $50 for two burger plates, one chicken strip plate, one ice tea, one...
