Bears Drive-Inn — Restaurant in Thomson

First of all, they don't take credit or debit, so bring cash if you're from out of town. :)

The bf and I came hungry and ready to eat. We ordered a peanut butter malt, a chocolate malt, a soda, Mozzarella sticks, a double cheeseburger with bacon, and a mushroom and Swiss burger. Oh! And a little bit of chili to throw on the cheeseburger.

The bf was very pleased with his malt, as I was with mine. Not too malty, if you know what I mean, but definitely there. The burgers were a good size. The meat was a frozen patty, I'm pretty sure, but didn't affect the experience. Doesn't matter to me, but some people really care about that stuff. The Mozzarella sticks were lil smokie size, but you get a decent handful of them. The sauce is a pizza sauce, which was awesome as far as I'm concerned. The bf said the chili was good, with lots of flavor.

The only thing I might have had an issue with would be the soda. The mix was weak, and as such tasted a little too soda water for us. However, I asked the very friendly staff to throw a couple pumps of vanilla flavoring in there, and they gladly did so. Made it much better. :)

Bear's is very affordable. And the ice cream and food is very good. Yes I only have the banana splits, but I've seen the food that comes out of this small kitchen. The staff is young kids that really take pride in their work. Stop by and see for yourself. U will be glad you did. Hurry they are only open til 8pm. And they close for the season in...

Went there 3 times this last month. If you don't mind standing waiting to order, then waiting to get it. This is the place for you. The redeeming quality, is the ice cream is rich and creamy. Much better than last year. They have a great chicken sandwich. It has new owner. Food and icecream...
