I used to love this place but I was extremely disappointed with my lunch this past Sunday.

I placed my order online, and left my phone number. Apparently they ran out of the mango salsa, a key ingredient in the black bean plate, didn't bother to call me and when I got home with my meal I found some chopped tomatoes and red onions, massively disappointing. Why wouldn't you call the customer? I would have changed my meal entirely, instead I was stuck with a bland meal. On top of that the dish was 90% rice and only 2.5 plantains. I can't believe I paid $18 for that. At least the guy at the counter was friendly but that doesn't make up for the mediocre food.

Honestly don't think I'll ever be back. As an island native I have religiously dined here every time I come to visit family, unfortunately this will be my last time. Makes me sad as this has always been my favorite island restaurant, especially since there aren't many vegan options here, but the quality had slowly decreased over the years and now I'll have to find...

Not impressed at all. The service was horrible. I think the name of the person that helped us was Rocco as noted on our receipt. Not friendly at all. Got some sandwiches and I asked for 2 bagels to go. The bagels were horrible. Like worse than bagels in the grocery store. Definitely not fresh. Not was I was expecting from a ‘bake house’. At least let us know before buying bagels for $5 each they aren’t fresh. We had our sandwiches outside. After checking out the bagels in the bag before we left I noticed they were very stale. Tried to return them and was told I can’t get a refund until the manager approves. I even asked for a gift card and denied. I left the bagels with the server and proceeded to call back 3 different times to talk with the manager. I was told each time that someone would give me a call back and yet no one has called me. DONT WASTE your time or your $$$ here. Can’t believe I spent $10 on 2 stale bagels and I couldn’t get even...

Edit one year later : it's with a heavy heart and as a local who has been a customer for a better part of a decade that I say scottish bake house is not what it used to be. Don't get me wrong breakfast sandwiches are still the best on island However quality has not been consistent and all pastries have declined in quality as well. Same dough is used for multiple items and I wouldn't even call any of their croissant an actual croissant. I am legitimately debating going over on the boat on Sundays to pie in the sky just to have a decent Danish and croissant. Best breakfast sandwich on MV!!! Scottish is also one of my favorite places to grab a quick bite while on the run. Staff is always kind and ordering online makes it all so...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Scottish Bakehouse is an absolute gem on Martha's Vineyard! As a vegan, finding delicious and healthy options can sometimes be a challenge, but this place exceeded all expectations. Their selection of vegan baked goods is simply divine, from fresh breads to delectable pastries, each bite bursting with flavor and wholesome goodness. Not only is the food outstanding, but the prices are incredibly reasonable, making it accessible for everyone to enjoy. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a leisurely meal. Whether you're a local or just visiting the island, Scottish Bakehouse is a must-visit destination. You won't be disappointed!
