La Garita Waterfront Bar & Rest. — Restaurant in Toa Baja

This restaurant was not planned. But it was the best part of my vacation in Puerto Rico. We had the exquisite honor of sitting at Janet’s table and she went above and beyond to make sure I was perfectly content with my food and beverages. She educated me about my favorite food, octopus and how I’ve basically been enjoying squid tentacles that other restaurants were passing off as octopus. So to make up for the other dining experiences in other places, she modified my meal request to exactly what I wanted and even let me sample the octopus before ordering. I enjoyed wonderfully hot fish broth, and tasty rice and beans along with my plate of REAL octopus. La Garita is a restaurant that sits right next to the water where you can watch the sunset and waves. Inside it's very cozy with a nice romantic ambiance. The servers are very kind and accomodating, but are also aware of your children's needs, bringing them their food first. The best part is the food. It is a normal-sized portion meaning you will not leave hungry. It looks stunning when it is served and absolutely delicious when you taste it🤤. Recommend the COCONUT FLAN, it is to die for! We waited patiently at the door for 20 minutes. When the bitter, short server approached us, we politely asked about ocean view seats. She responded will malice, “I don’t know. You sit here. (A table in the middle of the dark portion of the restaurant near the bar.) However, the couple behind us got sat in ocean view seats and there were at least 6 other seats.
