Paletados — Restaurant in Toa Baja

Such a fun concept! We (family of 5) tried paletados for the first time recently and loved it. The service was wonderful - girl behind the counter spoke English and patiently (and enthusiastically) described the flavors, options, her recommendations (she liked the yogurt based ones) and the most popular ones (Nutella, cameo, coconut). We ordered 2x Nutella, Oreo, Ajonjoli (sesame seed) bathed in chocolate or chocolate with almonds and 1 topping (kids chose Oreo crumbles or gummy candy). Everyone loved theirs - I love sesame seed candy, but I didn't care much for the paleta fyi (I would try coconut or pistachio next time).

The paletas (surprisingly) hold up really well - not quick to melt, and I'm sure it helps that the store is air-conditioned (with clean bathrooms, great light, friendly atmosphere). Other people came in to buy fun drinks (matcha latte maybe?) and seemed to be regulars so that might be something to try! Most regulars came for plain paletas (vs. the bathed concoctions we were trying) which confirms that the "naked" paletas would be great on their own, so plan to try...

They have a wide variety of flavors to choose from and even have sugar free options. I had the sesame seed one which, according to the staff, is made with the candy from Dulzura Borincana. Delicious...
