My wife and I decided to take a road trip yesterday and eat at Mona's for the first time. Right away, we felt welcomed. We ordered the pretzel and fried chicken which was a special with a side, salad, and spaghetti. We added tortellini to the spaghetti. The pretzel and the chicken were both incredible, the fried chicken was the best I've had in many years. The red meat sauce is something special too, not overpowering on the tomato or sweetness. I was waiting for a pick up order & was basically pushed out of the way by a small group of snooty looking people who were waiting to be seated. Wasn't able to flag down an employee to get my order that was sitting right there.. for quite a while. Not the staff's fault, they were running around in circles being bothered by the rude customers as well. . But it was really chaotic. Read moreI have eaten here since I was a little girl. My entire Dad’s side of the family would rent the big room and I would always get a kiddie cocktail. Now that I am an adult, Mona’s is nostalgic. When I walk I am reminded of the nights I would spend here with my extended family. The low lighting and old style dining, the smell of the kitchen and warm bread hitting the table.
