3.5 stars here. review based on one meal on a specific day. most Covid precautions relaxed here. stopped in on a total whim while road tripping through the area. couldn't miss the smell of hickory or the smoke coming from the building out back. large space reminiscent of an old time road house. drive up window quite busy during our lunch visit. walk up window to order inside with chalkboards displaying different meats and sides plus how they are served-sandwich, platter, etc. delicious looking baked goods right there-pie, cake , etc. and a lovely, personable crew of ladies set to help. we chose to break our recent rule of sharing a platter and each ordered one for ourselves today. wife chose baby back ribs with sides of housemade potato salad and the mayo slaw (as opposed to the also served vinegar slaw). i was somewhat indecisive so the nice young lady behind the counter suggested i try the "big boy platter". this brought on much laughter from my DW. this was a three meat sampler with two sides. i chose the sliced pork shoulder, the chicken breast, and the shredded pork which comes with a their sweet sauce, unlike the pulled pork that has the spicy sauce. two sides of green beans and baked beans. the baby back ribs were a full half rack, not the three bones you usually see on a lunch plate. they were cooked very nicely, falling easily from the bone on first bite. nice smoke flavor but unfortunately the predominant flavor was of vinegar which i assume came from a mop sauce used towards the end of cooking. wife had no issue with it but to me it was overpowering. her slaw was exactly like KFC and too wet IMO. the potato salad on the other hand was delicious. different in that it had very little if any mustard/pickle flavor. creamy and a bit sweet, it was similar to mashed potatoes. we loved it. should have bought some for the road. my big boy platter meats were mostly winners. the shredded pork was not my favorite as it was very very sweet and just sort of mushy. the chicken breast was cooked perfectly-very moist and went well with the mild sauce. the pork shoulder was great. again perfectly cooked and a nice change from ribs or pulled pork. my green beans were standard issue but the baked beans were a stand out. bits of pork and a great flavor profile of both sweet and a bit of black pepper spice. again, should have bought a tub of these to go. chose a homemade fried hand pie, apple flavor, for dessert but i must say it disappointed. should have went with the chocolate cake. for some good q and a very friendly service experience, hit up Hog Wild if in the area. B- today but...

We were passing through n saw the bbq billboard in the Walmart parking lot. Decided bbq sounds great. Ordered the family meal which was priced reasonably. Atmosphere was very nice! I’d would say it was cleaner than your average bbq. We had the pulled pork, potato salad, baked beans, bread n drinks. The staff were very helpful n polite while ordering. Also seemed that all employees were dressed in a neat and clean manor. Kinda makes a difference to me sometimes. The baked beans and pulled pork was very salty. That’s the only thing I could taste even was salt. To the extent that I’m appreciative that no one asked after we received our meal how it was. And you pay before you eat! Luckily I didn’t have to politely lie n say it was good. I threw my portion of meat n beans in trash. The potato salad was more like loaded mashed potatoes, or just smashed potatoes, but wasn’t loaded as bad with salt. The potato salad tasted good but wasn’t textured like expected. I WOULD have the potato salad, bread and drinks again. SALT N SUGAR look the same TASTE IT! Taste what you sale. I’m assuming they meant to have really sweet n tangy bbq instead of spit it out salty! There were 3 in my group and we all agreed that on this day we had some of the worst bbq that we’ve ever had. I really hope that this was the problem. They have lots of competition in that area. I have to go back sometime to see if I’m correct n hopefully I’m right. 50 min drive from my home but I will update this review at a later date. This is the 1st review that...

I was not expecting a lot from this place. Simply because I'm from Arizona and this was very different then most restruants there. Different doesn't mean bad, this restruant blew my mind!!! The food was absolutely amazing. Keep doing what you're doing because you're doing it right!!! Employees were very nice. The restruant was clean and well taken care of. Burger was delicious, not bland at all and perfectly seasoned. The potato salad was the best I've had in my life (aside from when I make it myself). And the side of macaroni was delicious. I can only hope I'll be...

What a great place to eat. Staff was friendly with great personalities. My friend and I both got ribs which were perfectly cooked, fall off the bone perfect! This is one of those places where if in the area, ya just have to go there. One thing that's never happened before when at a restaurant was we had 3 different people eating there come over and ask us if we liked the food as much as they did. One of those, sat down with us and told about the area. Fun place to go to.
