Crescent Moon Winery — Restaurant in Tonganoxie

We went to two local wineries as part of my small, 6 person bridal shower. The vibes here were really weird. Right when we walked in, the staff seemed annoyed and surprised that we were there (the tasting room was empty at the time). They were apparently expecting a large bridal shower party (a younger, more rowdy group that showed up later), so that may have been why they were so standoffish with us. We didn’t end up doing a tasting and just bought a couple bottles to sit outside with. They gave us plastic cups, even though we were sitting on grass (other local wineries have given us real glasses). Overall, we didn’t care for the wine as much as others. I love this winery. My first visit was the vineyard North of Lawrence. It was really a cool place. We were able to go outdoors and enjoy the day with our new wine, cheese and crackers. It over looks their pond, vineyard and beautiful little valley with the horse at the barn. I feel in love with their wines and a is favorite of mine here in Kansas. My boyfriend and I were driving around looking for new places to try out and we stumble across this cute place. We loved it and will definitely return, hopefully with friends the next time we decide to do a little road trip.
