Fig's Backyard — Restaurant in Tool

First and last time visit. We were told their busy our waitress may be a while, even though we made reservations. We ordered drinks and chips, party of 4 adults/ 2 young children, through another wait staff, 4 beers, 4 waters and 2 kids drinks, chips and queso. Around 10 mins later we received 2 waters, chips and 1 salsa, a few minutes later 3 beers, more salsa, queso and were told they could only find 1 kids cup but were looking for more. Finally received 2 kids drinks still waiting on the last beer. We had to get condiments from another table. We didn't see our waitress for another 25 mins. Finally found her, waved her down, she says the other girl said she took your order. We said no, she took our order. 35 mins have gone by, we flag the waitress down to check on our order, she leaves and comes back a few mins later and says it will be 5 to 7 mins more. People on 2 sides of us have came, ate and left. 20 mins have gone by suddenly one of our children started throwing up, we chase the waitress down again, ask for help with the throw up on the ground. The waitress brings an empty ice bucket, she seems upset helping. We tell her we now need the order to go. A man came over and apologized saying they were busy tonight ( I swear we heard "We're busy" 30 times) they would get our order as fast as they could. We ask for the check while we are waiting on our order, which took about 10 mins. I admit I was upset, over 2 hours we were there, we had been forgotten about, obviously. When the waitress finally brought the to go sacks out, she mentioned "they were busy" AGAIN! I told her that 2 tables had came and went and we still had no food. The waitress told me, " No way, were just busy! Next time just get your order to go!" I said, "there won't be a next time." The waitress replied, " GOOD!" Not only will we never go back here, we will never go to Figs Steakhouse or anything Figs own! Too bad you spent so much money opening such an ill-ran business. Certainly wasn't worth the $160 we spent tonight. The food wasn't that great, bland no flavor, sandwiches were dry and fries were soggy. Mr. Fig, "Inspect what you expect", hire quality people, (definitely more staff is needed), train them correctly. Invest in your employees, improve the quality of the food. UPDATE: Greg, the owner, called and assured us Nick was addressed regrading his awful treatment of the waitress and apologized to her. He said it would be used as a learning opportunity for the staff as far as how to treat everyone with respect. We couldn’t ask for a better response from an owner and truly hope this incident will inspire appropriate treatment of all staff in the future.

I have never seen such abuse before in my life at a restaurant targeted straight at an innocent and defenseless employee. Our sweet waitress brought us our salad without the cheese that was stated to be included on the menu. We informed our waitress and then witnessed her getting berated by one of the owners who was also the head cook-Nick. He screamed at her, told her to read the menu, and slammed some cheese on the counter continuing to yell at her. She walked away in tears, and as we tried to console her she informed us that this happens all the time with him. It was absolutely unacceptable and disgusting to see anyone get treated that way, especially a sweet young girl who did absolutely nothing wrong. We asked to speak with the owner, and when he came by we told him how disappointed we were to see him treat any human that way, much less an innocent young girl that worked for him. He then shut us down, told us to have a nice night and walked away, completely dismissing us and his treatment of the sweet girl. I have never been so appalled in my life at the treatment of an employee. I will say we called the restaurant after and discussed the situation with Greg, another owner, and he said he would take care of it. Great place, it was a bit on the warmer side before the live music started, then they started misting us up by the band like the veggie section at the grocery store which was oddly helpful 😂 We had the server named Karma tonight, I can’t remember the guys name that also helped, maybe David? Daniel? My friend had a bit too much to drink and they were extremely helpful in helping me get her to the car and us home safely. There was an older white haired gentleman, idk if he worked there for the stage band or what, but I do feel he was pretty harsh and only exacerbated the situation and certainly had no business cursing at two women. I hope he wasn’t affiliated with the place because that won’t be good for business. The wait staff were great but they may want to have some extra training on deescalation and customer service especially for the male staff when handling drunk customer/customers of the opposite sex considering they serve hard liquor, that responsibility should not be falling solely on y’all’s waiters. Overall I’d go back, it was a bit overpriced but the atmosphere was good. The toilets and parking leave a lot to be desired, there is only single stall male and female washrooms that seemed to always have the barest shred of toilet paper in them and the parking was a bit of a nightmare, they have two lots outside of their main parking packed to the gills, so beware of that. All in all, it was a good time, the food smelled great although we didn’t get that far. The live band was great, sound was good for outdoors and a groovy time.
