"Pizza" Parlor — Restaurant in Topeka

Just a question....has service at Pizza Parlor always been horrible? New to Oakland. Went into today with the husband at 1pm. Walked in got stared at by the staff, sat down in a booth waited to be greeted (that never happened) husband finally after 15min went to ask for menu's the waitress at the cash register just slid the menu toward him didn't say a word. There was 1 table there who already eaten besides us. Waitress never even came up to us. Needless to say we walked out. Went to Sonic instead. I would rather support local instead of chain but after my experience at Pizza Parlor won't go back. Damn shame to! Looked like the owner had a TV on the verge of quitting but clearly he doesn't need...

The waitress was friendly but that's the only positive to the experience. Walk in and it is incredibly hot and stuffy inside. Mostly large tables for groups of 4+ people. Served quickly but not what expected at all. Food was not good at all. $8 for a salad with wet lettuce, and portioned the same any other restaurant would serve as a side salad. Pizza served on a pre-made thin crust that tasted like a cracker and was incredibly soggy from liquid tomato sauce. Super disappointed in the food, but glad service was nice. The Pizza parlor is very historic it is a very good place to eat… But long wait for food and the last time I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and jalapeño poppers I waited for over half an hour for my food and my fries were cold. I was brought back another order of fries which were also called. So after waiting 45 minutes altogether for food they cut me two dollars for my fries. So is that what my time is worth two dollars very disappointed. I came to three because of the atmosphere and the people that are they’re great people...
