The Quality of service has dropped over the last year. We have been to this place before and the food and service was above average. Today, However was like something out of a training facility with first year students. To start off, they had a preformer singing folk songs at a volume much better suited to an Irish Pub after happy hour. (To Loud) The young lady could not have had a better attitude, she was all smiles and clueless... It was as if we were her first ever table and she really wanted to do well. We were seated at about 6:20pm, we ordered by 6:35... Our food arrived at 7:15... Two of our party are in their 90s, both are spry and fun loving. Our server had some trouble with an order for a "Very Dry, Beefeaters martini" she obviously didn't know what that meant, then we said tanqueray is ok.. She knew what that was. She said, I will be right back after I make the martini... The martini arrived with Olives on the side, in a shot glass(good save after not hearing them asked for). We ordered Roast Duck, Fish and Chips, a Caesar salad and grilled scallops, then I ordered a house salad and a cheese burger. The Duck arrived fresh and was reported to be good. The other orders had all been under a heat lamp so long as to be visible. For how long the Burger had been under the heat lamp it was surprisingly juicy. The cheese was so well melted that it was brown on top and transparent but the veggies were fresh... The Fish was so tough that the gentleman had to use a knife to cut it, not something I expect for fried fish. The scallops were over done and tough. I can not find fault with my salad, it was good, but the Caesar was completely soggy with no crisp left... The presentation of all the dishes was spot-on Cordon Bleu quality. But we had to ask for dressing, mustard, ketchup and it looked like our request was a surprise... The paperless check out is a very poor choice for a restaurant where most of the customers are going to be well over 65... No way to print a receipt, no stylus for the customer to sign the bill and the server just kept saying "We are trying to save the Plants". I think she may have been trying to say "save the planet" but it kept coming out "save some plants". The no printable receipt thingy was a problem until I volunteered that they could email it to me and I would print it out... Look the man is over 90 and wanted his receipt ( he is also a combat vet who deserves a receipt if he asks for one). I would not hold such a hard line on the business practices if the restaurant was not inside the largest retirement community in the area. To sum it all up, I would not eat here again unless I had to. These folks are trying to run an upscale California style place in a Maine retirement community, they are out of touch with the customer base and I predict they will fail in the next year or so. They tried hard, the people were nice, the business plan doesn't fit the location, the kitchen can not service the menu with quality and the staff needs more training working with the customer age group. Hope this helps you not have to go through what I did this evening trying to explain this to people I care about who honestly couldn't understand it all.

We arrived in the rain to be seated by a sleepy waitress with Raggy hair and glasses who sat us by the window. It was freezing so we asked to move. There was no one in the place but it took an hour and a half to get our food. During our visit my niece lost a tooth so we requested a small container. The waitress preceded to talk ill about my five year old niece as she walked in to the kitchen, very audibly. I’m not sure if she thought it was soundproof but it was not. She called my niece disgusting and complained about how we asked for noodles. I’m not sure why the service was so slow but I’d bet it was because they were too busy talking smack in the kitchen, not to mention the waitresses were connected at the hip acting as each others shadow. I won’t tolerate that behavior and I will...

Attentive service. Fun music for the Grand Opening. When you enter the dining room, a beautiful fruit and cheese tray had artfully arranged fruit paired with several types of cheese, chocolate and white chocolate dipped strawberries and olives.

My husband is Polish and enjoyed the Pierogi/cabbage and Kielbasa. It was a balanced tasty combination.

I had the chicken with spinach and artichoke hearts in a creamy cheesy sauce. It was served with delicate Jasmine rice and a tasty side of seasonal fresh veggies. The special Chardonnay was the perfect accompaniment.

We loved it and we...
