Overview: Vera Roma is a newer restaurant that resides with a golf course and has a solid menu with fantastic food and great staff.
Drinks: Drinks are average priced and are served with higher shelf liquor. Definitely a good value for what you get. I had the Manhattan and was probably one of the better ones I've had in a while. Shockingly smooth yet strong - indicator of higher quality liquor.
Food: To start we had the Italian bread with their special sauce, assuming it is in-house. If I could chose a restaurant to go to just by the starter served I'd come here every time, best sauce ever. I could eat plates of bread with it. I got the special jambolto (? Spelling) and was mixed with several types of meat and vegetables. Friends had veal with spaghetti, and chicken alla vodka. The special definitely was worth it, fantastic sauce with perfectly cooked veges and meats tossed together. The veal was lacking in quantity (friend's comment) but otherwise was very good.
Service: We had Diana as a waitress and she was phenomenal. Punctual, polite, and diligent. We had never felt like we were forgotten or had to call her over and was very entertaining. We had several inquiries on the menu and the food and she was able to answer them quite well. We had accidentally left the restaurant without our cards we paid with and she immediately came running out of the restaurant bringing them to us - fantastic waitress!!
If you want an upscale, atmospheric experience with genuinely good Italian cuisine, check this place out; if you were disappointed I'd...
Read moreI had a rather disappointing experience here. It started present enough as I showed up to meet someone to lunch. I had personal reservations when I saw it was attached to a country club as the restaurants are never that great, but hey, I didnt select the place.
It was rather quiet when we entered, and nothing seemed outwardly off. It was purporting to be an Italian place, so inordered something Italian. I ended up being overly not thrilled. The meat was tough, although the bed of pasta was quite plentiful. I did like the sauce, but that alone isn't a redeeming fact.
The French onion soup was pretty lousy. It was a pale imitation of what onion soup is supposed to be.
I probably should have asked about it first, but to charge that much for a single glass of iced tea without giving refills is unconscionable. I mean really... the glasses weren't even that big to begin with. I know its attached to a country club, but that's still a ripoff. Had I known that each refil was going to set me back more than a couple of dollars, I would have stuck with the tap water.
In addition to that, even with an appropriate tip, there's no way a lunch should have costed more than a nice dinner. A good chunk was due to the overly priced beverages.
I will definitely never go back here again. And if you are a golfer looking for a good meal after hitting the links, I'd recommend packing a cooler full...
Read moreFood was clearly frozen and re-heated. Third time of trying and will most definitely be the last. No authentic Italian dishes made as they should be. Staff were courteous and pleasant but the food let it down yet again. Good place for drinks but that’s it. **Reply to GM - We did say the food was fine to the waitress as we felt uncomfortable sending back another plate. The shrimp scampi which is meant to be a garlic white wine sauce tasted like beef broth. There was a large amount left uneaten, so not a cleared dish. The stuffed shrimp, garlic risotto, and sautéed spinach was good. However, there was still much food left of this plate as you do give a generous amount of risotto. The waitress asked if we wanted to take the remaining of both home, which we declined. We are not trying to criticise, but only be honest about our opinion. Clearly there are people who enjoy your food and we hope your restaurant continues to...
