We arrived at Homestead Kitchen & Tap at 7:30 pm on Saturday, October 14, 2023. My wife heard on the radio that they had a steak special. We both had a long day of work and wanted an easy meal for dinner. The original food delivered arrived about 25 minutes after we placed the order. We had ordered a porterhouse steak with baby red potatoes for her and a chicken wrap with no tomatoes and potato salad for me. They brought out the steak and a plain chicken breast sandwich which was not what I ordered. We told the bartender of the issue and she proceeded to look at the menu to verify the order. She placed the next order to correct the mistake. They were busy so my order was placed at the back of the line behind those that ordered after me. My wife finished her steak and we continued to wait for my food. After we waited for an hour, we asked for our bill so we could pay for the food while we finished waiting for my dinner to come out in a to go box as we were done waiting and ready to go home. I opened the box after they swiped our credit card to discover that they screwed up the order yet again. A chicken wrap came out, but it had tomatoes on it which is not what I ordered. We pointed this out to a bartender, and she told us since we paid for our food and signed the bill that she could no longer make any corrections even though she had yet to grab the signed receipt from us to close the transaction. Frustrated with the whole situation we left without leaving a tip on the receipt as half of our order was incorrect and we had waited for an hour for food that was wrong. I tried the potato salad when I got home, and it was so bland. So, in all our experience was horrible. The bartender was not apologetic in any way for the mistakes that were made. They did not comp my meal and ultimately did nothing to rectify their errors. When the bartender saw that we were upset she did not even offer to make up for it by offering two drinks on the house to my wife and I or anything else to show they were sorry for how our experience was. This visit left me with a sour taste for this business when in the past I have had nothing but good things to say about their food. I have no intension of returning because they could not fix this situation leaving me a dissatisfied customer disappointed in what service I received. The only plus side was the old fashions were good, but they charged me extra for two extra brussel sprouts that I asked for on top of my drink while I waited for them to correct their mistakes. The brussel sprouts were the only thing I ate for dinner in addition to a few bites of my wife's meal because they could not manage to get my dinner order correct in the two times they tried. I came hungry and left hungry which is not the way it is supposed to be when you go out on a dinner date but I was done waiting for a bartender who did not seem to care about us as customers and who we had to chase after for half of our visit because she neglected her service...

AWESOME little restaurant! I stumbled upon this little gem while I was passing through the area for the weekend. I was trying to find a decent place for lunch and their menu online looked right up my alley, so I swung through. Upon entering I noticed the were plenty of cars in tne parking lot... always a good sign. As soon as I got inside I was greeted by a very nice pleasant lady. I sat at the bar ordered a root beer and found they carried a local one on tap! (I LOVE ROOT BEER!!!) When I wanted to look at the menu I was surprised to hear that they were offering a Sunday brunch. "YES PLEASE!" Great spread and you could tell that they cared and put love into there homey country food. Everything was delicious. Plus the food runner was was working hard and smiling the whole time to keep the buffet full, fresh and clean while helping guest with special request. All the servers were nice and friendly not only with customers but with each other as well. As I say quietly and enjoyed my brunch I observed and liked this place more and more. You couldn't help but just fall into the good vibes that were emitting from this place. The customers, servers and cooks as well as the manager (or owner) were all happy. And yes of course i got a warm farewell and thank you on my way out the door. My favorite restaurant yet in my travels across the country. Thank you "Homestead "

Ps. Prices were pretty...

UPDATE: 7.24.2022: These folks have really upped their game. Bar help: OUT OF THIS WORLD! They are such great ambassadors to Algoma!

Our Women's Group made reservations for 13. Our waitress, Erin, was so organized taking individual checks by name. Food arrived and all were pleased save my dining partner who ordered the special, Beef Tips. Very few pieces of beef, unfortunately. When widow ladies don't ask for a to-go container for a leftover meal, then the meal wasn't that great. I had a chefs salad and ordered the ALL Meat pizza to take home to spouse. Spouse was delighted and the smaller pizza fed us...

Wow! This restaurant is awesome! Service spot on even though its busy. Breaded ravioli absolutely perfect and the BEST in the area. Juicy burger even though it was ordered well done. Perfect bacon with all the fresh toppings. Fries cooked in fresh oil. Thick crust pepperoni pizza delicious (two choices thin or thick) Sauce could use a little more magic. No star deduction, but this is Wisconsin and pizza competition is the toughest of all 50 states. I LOVE the decor and feel of this of this restaurant. A little loud, but it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Do I have to leave? Well done on the new restaurant! Thank you!

Driving through on vacation and stopped for dinner. The atmosphere was more like a family reunion than a restaurant. They had corn hole boards and basketball goals out so you could pass the time and there was also some good live music. My wife and I ended up sitting with a nice local couple who filled us in on the local amenities. The food was very good and the prices were very reasonable. I understand the family that owns the place is very involved in the community. People like that deserve support. So if you’re in the area and need a place to eat this is it.

We stopped on our way through to Sturgeon Bay. What a little gem! I'm so glad we stopped. Emersyn was fantastic! The nachos were amazing and the portion was hearty. The meat and cheese are all sourced from down the road at Ebert Enterprises. What a fantastic way to utilize locally grown food. The prices are also fantastic and a true testimonial to sourcing local. I wish we had one of these places back in Minnesota. We would visit many times more if we were local!
