G & G Diner — Restaurant in Town of Amberg

Me and my partner were visiting the area (staying in Athelstane) and on our way up to Long Slide Falls we stopped here for lunch. I ordered the Reuben with side of German potato salad and my partner got the crispy chicken tender sandwich with a side of smoked Mac n cheese. We shared our entrees with each other. All the food was well prepared and delicious! The sauces for the sandwiches tasted homemade, bread was toasted nicely, the mac n cheese was creamy and had a beautiful, natural smoke flavor. German potato salad excellent! A cute little up north country diner with tasty eats✨️Next time I'm in the area, I will definitely stop back here to eat. EDIT At the end of our 4 night stay, we stopped back for breakfast on our way home and again, very delicious! Portions very generous, we ended up taking the leftovers and finishing them once we got home. This will be our spot to eat when we visit...

Oh my! Our group of 4 will be referring to this diner for a long time! We would never have happened upon this place with Google maps, but what a find! Once we entered, we were told to sit wherever we wanted; Gayle came over with a welcome and menus before we even sat down. We chose our meals - there are plenty of choices from breakfast, burgers, salads, "sammiches," and more. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the generous portions and taste of our lunches! However, the highlight was the lemon blueberry pancake! Oh my goodness, I'm sure these are served in heaven! Sweet, but not too sweet; and it's huge, so we were happy to have ordered but one... Gayle was a delightful server (and owner, she's one of the G's). We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend dining at G & G Diner! Everything about G&G is great! We recently moved into the area and the consistent, reliable quality of the total meal experience has made it our go to eatery, hands-down. Everyone we have to visit gets a pilgrimage to G&G if there is time and they have all agreed. The food is great, with respectable portions at a good price. We have had a good sampling of the menu over the past several months and there really hasn't been a disappointing meal. The bought-in stuff is quality and fairly limited, which is the mark of a great diner, but the food they make is top-notch. I can rave about this place all day, but let's keep it short and say that the only thing to watch out for us that it is a small diner in a tiny town in an area with limited venues, so if you come when it is busy you can expect a wait since they are not in the habit of sacrificing...
