Tonight my fiance and I decided to go to amenia steakhouse. When we walked in we were brought into the backroom for seating and then they realized the table needed to be cleared off so they sat us at the bar to wait, when we sat at the bar the female bartender was extremely rude to us when we told her we were just sat there to wait and would not be ordering drinks. The table was cleared off in less than 5 minutes but we had to stay at the bar for about 15-20 as our waiter walked past us several times, flirting with customers and ignoring us. When we were finally seated we were left to wait once again this time the wait was so long we debated on leaving. Before even ordering drinks the BUS BOY brought us over rolls and tried talking to us because he realized how long we had been waiting. The waiter came over after 35 minutes went by with no drinks and finally took our order all at once. Food was then rushed out of the kitchen and had little to no flavor to it, I didnt see seasoning on anything my pasta dish just tasted like noodles, milk, and raw onion and my fiance's steak had absolutely no seasoning and some of the pieces were not even able to be chewed. During the whole diner the bus boy continued to bring us drinks and get our waiter when needed which is not his job but he was the best part of the whole dinner for being the only person there that cares about the customers seemingly. Extremely disappointed in this experience and we will not...

So, I usually read the reviews after my experience to see if I pick up on any positive or negative aspects. It seems to me, based on a single experience there, that maybe some of the reviews are older and things have hopefully changed. The only “complaint” I have is that the server did not introduce himself. Beyond that, he was just the right amount of attentive. He took our drink orders and appetizer order and when he came back with them, he saw that we needed more drinks and was very prompt with refills. Our dinners were just three burgers and the fish and chips plate. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the fish was very plentiful. No complaints about how much we were served. The parking lot is a little confusing. There is a door facing the road that is apparently the entrance but there is also a door on the side that you have to pass that has no handle to enter. Once inside though, that door is prominently marked as an exit and would make more sense as both an entrance and exit since there did not appear to be any handicap parking spots (dirt lot, dark and unlit, lots of cars, I may have missed a sign or two). All in all, we have passed this place dozens of times. It looks very unassuming as you pass, sort of like a local dive but it is actually pretty well laid out and we were happy with our meal and our service. We would go here again except next time we will be...

Highly recommended Amenia Steakhouse located at 4905 Route 44, Amenia, NY 12501-5442. Extremely pleased with this restaurant from start to finish.

Greeted upon entering and given a choice of seating. Our waitress, Natalie, was friendly and attentive. She gave us suggestions and checked on us several times during our meal. There was also a waiter who engaged in friendly conversation even though he was not assigned to our table.

Ordered a steak and crab leg combo, which he loved. The seafood was fresh and the steak cooked perfectly. while there were several items I could have eaten on the menu, I was in the mood for salad, so I ordered a house salad,a side of vegetables and fries. But within a few minutes of smelling the yummy food I ordered the biggest steak an porterhouse. The salad was a generous size and consisted of a good variety of fresh lettuce and other vegetables The vegetables tasted fresh and were not overcooked. The fries were not greasy, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The dessert menu was huge, so we asked Natalie for some suggestions and ultimately asked her to surprise us. She brought us a piece of the Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake, which was a perfect way to end the meal. Will definitely eat here again when...

I order a jack Daniels, New York strip steak Medium cooked, and they serve me a well done steak, which it was very dry to eat. The sauce was really good, but the steak was just too dry for me to eat. I sent it back and got a burger instead, which this was really good When it came time to pay the bill they only discounted 8% of the steak which I asked to speak with the manager because it was supposed to be taken completely off because I did not eat the whole steak. I only ate about three small bites and the waitress lied to the Manager, saying that I ate half of the steak They say they took a look at it, but I don’t think they did because they would’ve seen that. I only ate a little bit but in the end after the manager getting mad at me and treating me the wrong way she took the steak off the bill. I was lucky there we were the only ones there otherwise it would’ve been a very embarrassing situation which we did not need it. I should’ve read all the reviews specially the ones with one star because it looks like they always have problems with the steaks cooking the way you want it either they make it raw or too well done

We are from Ohio and visiting family. We happened upon this wonderful little steakhouse on Fathers day evening. It was packed and required a reservation but they told us to just let them see if they could find us a table and they did. It was the only empty table in the place. They were understaffed due to a couple call off. But let me tell you I did not care one bit! The staff that was there were amazing. I watched every single employee work their tail off with a smile on their face. They were so friendly and attentive they took empty plates and filled glasses everytime they passed our table. The food was hot, very good and served relatively fast. I will definitely return when we visit this area again. I hope the owner knows what wonderful employees they have. And a special thank you to our waitress Natalie S you were such a bright spot on a very hard day for us.
