I'm not sure if we were just unlucky and decided to try this restaurant for the first time and hit it on a night that maybe they were busier than normal or possibly short staffed. We were barely greeted when we walked in, we sat down and it was about 15 mins before someone came and asked if we would like something to drink, we were not given menus at that time, we finally got a menu 15 - 20 minutes later. We then waited 25 minutes for our dinner order to be taken. I ordered the Revolution Grilled Cheese Burger, (a hamburger on texas toast with American cheese and bacon) cooked medium rare. My husband ordered the Blackbird Burger, (a hamburger topped with pepper jack cheese, caramelized onions and a fried egg) cooked medium and he added bacon. Both came with french fries and pickles. We ordered the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. We waited 25 minutes for the appetizer, which was very good. We received our burgers 25-30 minutes after the appetizer. We saw people that had come in after us get their orders taken and receive their food before we got ours. When our food arrived my husband's was missing the bacon, he did get the bacon after pointing it out and we were not charged for the bacon. His burger was well done. My burger was not on texas toast it was on texas bread and I was given the heel of the bread loaf. My burger was well done. The fries were hot and crispy but tasted like old oil. Our clothes even smelled like grease and old cooking oil. The quickest thing we received was the check. I had an iced tea my husband had a lemonade, at $3.00 a glass and we were not offered a refill. Neither the beverages or the prices for them were listed on the menu. We were there over 2 hours a bit long ...
Read moreFood price / quality (value) rating: 10. We've now been here twice. This is now at the top of our list for value. The atmosphere is a contemporary pub / tavern style. Owner / Operators George and Tara are typically on location assuring top quality. Well balanced menu offerings make it easy to find something you'll like. I had the Shrimp Santiago, which had perfectly cooked linguine and 7 shrimp, and was presented beautifully. The wife had the Filet of Sole and stated that she loved it. The entrees included freshly heated rolls and a very decent salad. The portions were large, and we both will get a second meal out of them. We also split a Tiramisu dessert that was excellent and very different from any that I've had prior. On our second visit I got TWO OF THEM to go! They have a fairly limited, but well chosen offering of bottled beers, but no draught beer. The prices are very reasonable, and the service was excellent. It's easy to tell that the owners are not unfamiliar with the restaurant business! Highly...
Read moreWe were exploring the area and found the Blackbird Bistro. It was just what we needed!! We ate a late lunch outside on the lovely shaded patio. The menu was so extensive, we enjoyed a drink as we decided. The blood orange mule was excellent, and the waitress/bartender made it with wiskey instead of vodka for me. One of the specials of the week was a Rockin’ Salad, with eggs, avocado and a generous topping of tuna salad. It was so refreshing and delicious on a warm afternoon. My husband chose the mussels in marinara sauce and a bowl of Lobster Bisque soup. He couldn’t stop telling me how good the mussels were. They were bigger and more tasty than he’d had, and he eats lots of mussels!! We spent some time talking with George, the owner, we wanted to tell him how much we enjoyed the meal!! He shared the story about naming the place after the Beatle song and how they named the menu selections after other Beatles songs. We would definitely recommend you visit and see for yourself how lovely...
