Ripped off at fish fry, I wanted 1 piece of baked and one fried. They brought the order on 2 plates I thought that was odd but started to eat, ate one plate, it was way to much to eat the other plate I didn't even touch. I packed it to go. I got the bill, SHE CHARGED ME FOR 2 Dinners, when I only wanted 2 different pieces of fish! Then she insisted I pay for her mistake! She said because I ate both of them, which I did not! And even if I had, I read on the website it says your supposed to get 4 pieces, so in total I has gotten 3 pieces. I am an older women and she assumed I sat down to order two Dinners, who would do that!?!?! Ridiculous! But she said oh no that she thought the was normal! And even with the fish I got was not 2 Dinners worth! She said she'd get me another re-order to take home and the order she brought was just small and chincy. And in total now I had recieved 5 pieces(2 very small ones) and I should of gotten 8 total. They say you should get 4 pieces with a meal, but they don't let you just get the 4 pieces, they drag it out, make you reorder, and wait. And the reorder pieces are always very small. They thru in an approx 5 dollar cheesecake. After I tried to talk to them about their mistake and they acted like it was my fault and mistake! which is ridiculous!, who goes out to fish fry and orders 2 fish fry dinners for one person! And I didn't want any fish to go! I was charged 32 dollars for a one person fish fry and a piece of cheesecake! I didn't get 2 orders worth. It was supposed to be 16 dollars! And I felt very ripped off. Even with the cheese cake and no tip for the dumb bartender who thinks one single old lady is having 2 Dinners! AND then refuses to admit to or adjust for HER mistake! AND the worst part I like the place and feel like I was treated so ridiculously and ripped off, now I can't go back! Why does this have to happen to me? I just went in to have fish fry! ONE fish fry! And a very loud guy talking so the whole place could hear him about his friends wedding drinking drug and gambling escapades inVegas. That im sure no one wanted to hear about. But that was minorly unpleasant compared to getting out right ripped off by the server, and charged for 2 Dinners just because I wanted 2 pieces of fish, which I ordered before, one fried and one baked, they advertise you get 4 pieces total, but they'd really rather you didn't I guess get 4 pieces, I still can't believe it, too bad I like the place, never going back, horrified, ripped off and...

And the prices? Absolutely spot on for the quality amd quantity and heart poured into every dish. When I inquired about their Italian Beef sandwich — a quest I’ve been on for ages to find one that lives up to my Chicago standards since moving to the Mn. Northland — our lovely server assured me I’d be impressed. And wow, she was right!!!

My Italian Beef arrived, served with golden steak fries and a side of rich au jus, amd a requested side of amazing ranch sauce, looking so beautifully plated that my heart skipped a beat. The first bite? Pure magic. Memories flooded back — the buttery, crispy bread, the creamy provolone cheese just melting in harmony with the savory beef, dipped lovingly in that flavorful au jus. It was an eruption of comfort, nostalgia, and joy in every mouthful. My husband’s bacon cheeseburger was no less spectacular — he told me he’d never tasted a bun amd burger so full of flavorful goodness.

Happy friendly staff. People who enjoy their job make the difference when it comes to atmosphere, and this place definitely has a good one. The rustic look and smell of campfire really made me feel at home.

Amazing cheese curds. Batter dipped not breaded. Not a dill fan but somehow the dill ranch pairs amazingly with them. These curds were not greasy like a fair curd or other bar curds. Best I’ve ever had.

Portions are massive! The pic doesn’t show a full plate of fries, I ate some and they were in the process of cooking up more for us. We got another plate of fries with some AMAZING cheese sauce.

Burger is served with a fork and knife for good reason! You rarely find a messy burger that isn’t a culinary masterpiece and my All American Burger did not disappoint! My wife had the Porky Pig and for a woman who came in with the tiniest of appetites, she devoured it. The fries were perfectly crispy and I dipped those bad boys in the dill ranch, the cheese and even some of the Animal Sauce from my burger.
