Sal's pizzeria of Bainbridge — Restaurant in Town of Bainbridge

Great pizza by the slice! But, expensive, and then they add 4% penalty if you use credit card. Overall, not as good as their DeRuyter NY location. Even if you want your slices "for here" order them "to go" so you're not pressured into an incredibly awkward half-waitress service situation for slices of pizza on a plastic plate.

Even if you just order 1 slice of pizza with no drink "For here" (dine in), Bainbridge location tries to give you waitress service (i.e. tries to pressure you into a tipping situation) after you've already ordered from the counter: "You can just have a seat. Take this number to your table. We'll bring it out to you. Then you can pay after."... What!!? For 1 slice of pizza??? Or, I could just pay now while the pizza is being reheated and I'm standing here doing absolutely nothing. Who the HELL would want waitress service for 1 slice of pizza???

Taste is as great as DeRuyter but sometimes Bainbridge slice is way too flimsy and pizza just falls down over your hand like raw dough would. Staff is 5-star friendly but dining experience is stupid and unnecessary creates a very uncomfortable situation (in hopes of a tip?).

July 2025: Two plain slices in DeRuyter Sal's is $5.20 with tax and credit card penalty. Same two slices are $6.74 in...

We went for lunch the garlic knots were raw dough inside the antipasto consisted of some Romain lettuce no salami no provolone it was quite bare the dressing was almost all oil tasteless when I asked for atleast vinegar the girl gave me a snotty attitude . She came gave us our pizza since we were eating in but no plates to eat on I guess we had to put our pizza on the table to eat no plates. I went back to tell her and the guy helped me with plates the girl had a snotty lol we made so many dishes to wash . When I seen out back it was a bunch of Mexicans dong every thing. In an Italian restaurant no wonder it tasted so off. We will never return $50.00 for garbage we left...

Love this place and the owners are awesome! update: a year later.. idk what happened but all their take out pasta dishes have changed.. chicken parm over cooked smothered in mozz cheese to cover up the fact it's a black slab i honestly can't believe it. we went from getting this every week (just 2 of us, perfect price for the portion) to now we just tried it again today and i just don't know what to say.. it's horrible! and i wish i didn't have to say this. Sal, if you're reading this, go back to the way you used to do things. everything was so much better a year ago the food is indistinguishable from back then and it's hard to believe. breaks my...
