We went for my wife's birthday. The experience overall was good. The food was good some things were better than others. Had the stuffed artichoke extremely dry, Not much flavor. Bruschetta appetizer was fantastic. The calamari small portion a little chewy but it was okay I'm quite picky about my Calamari. The chicken Scarpiello I would give it a 7 out of 10 It was good but not outstanding. The parmesan and crusted chicken was very good. It was very tender but way too much butter.
Inside dining was okay Just don't go near the door in the back it keeps open and closing and it slams it's quite annoying, It's for the people outside on the little terrace. I would definitely recommend eating outside if the weather is nice, the way they have it set up lighting in the atmosphere night and day difference compared to the inside...If it was warmer we definitely would have set outside. The service was the best part We had a very good waiter.. attentive We left him a nice tip. We might go back for pizza just to sit outside and a couple of drinks. All in all I'd say the the food was mediocre at best. From what we had. To eat I'm sure there's probably things that are better. But the outside...
Read moreAhh Lucia... after reading the reviews I was very excited to try this place out. Finally brought the family out on a nice Sunday to have lunch.
While the table side bread w/garlicky broccoli rabe spread was a hit it was not a precursor of what was to come.
Our food took a decent amount of time to come out of the kitchen after we ordered and it wasn't slammed but I don't mind taking time to prepare things properly.
The appetizer of choice was arancini, one of which needed to be returned as it was ice cold in the middle. The rice balls themselves were not over worked and had a strong flavor of saffron which was a plus. But still a bit disappointing.
Our mains all came to the table looking fantastic and plated nicely. As far as taste goes everyone one of us agreed that the flavors were good but thats about it. My palermitana came out good, it was lightly breaded but it was soggy, the sides were ok and the white wine sauce was decent. But overall nothing impressive.
The best plate was the homemade gnocchi my sister ordered but even that wasn't a life changing experience. I would consider this an average meal in a nice setting, a little overpriced but knows how to dish...
Read moreWe’ve dined here dozens of times over the years, which is why this review will represent 3 stars for some good experiences, however, I’d like to highlight trying to attain a reservation for a party of 6 today. I checked their website which showed availability at 7pm. I thought I’d call to see if maybe they could put us in earlier. The person on the phone said they had a 7:45 reservation available to which I responded that I saw 7pm available on their website…. She then offered 545/6pm if I could “make sure we were out of her table by 7.” So we should come in with a party of 6 including two children and spend $200-$300 and run in and out in an hour? Most of how long it would take would depend on them anyways. Don’t offer a reservation to someone with a time limit in a local neighborhood family restaurant. After eating here dozens of times, I can assure you it would’ve been a 2+ hour dinner because of the speed they serve etc. A lesson in better communication and etiquette would go a long way with the staff who answers the phones here. Waitstaff has always been great, food is decent. Casual side of the restaurant is good for...
