I came here with high expectations, but once seated at the table it was like the waitress forgot all about us. We sat there for almost a half an hour until we finally had to say something. Once we said something to her she apologized and said could she get us some drinks to make things right. After we said yes that would be great they actually did not comp us the drinks and charged us on our bill. Additionally, the fish and chips were not good at all. The fish was overcooked, hard as a rock, and had to be dipped in copious tartar sauce just to get it down. The same fish was used in the fish tacos, but slightly better there because there was more stuff to cover it up. To be fair, the rest of the taco fixings were quite tasty. I might give it one more chance just because I had heard some good things about the place, it's possible we just hit on...

Yeah so, all around, a very half ass experience. First red flag was after I mentioned my nut allergies, I was handed my ahi tuna meal that was crusted with sesame seeds and asked, "Does sesame bother you?" It doesn't make me specifically react but it was odd for a server to be as careless about an allergy as she was. Secondly, I most certainly got served tostitos lime tortilla chips on top of my salad ! Lol that's in the pictures. Paid $22 for a really sub-par salad topped with tostitos ! My photo is the salad without the tuna for reference. Overall, first impressions are lasting ones and I appreciate the staff that offered to make things right about my meal. Service was on point. Food quality and appearance, not very good. As far as my experience tonight, I'm leaving this review low...

We had a great lunch on the deck! Our server was efficient, proactive, and friendly; the food was very good; and there was easily enough outdoor seating for the eight of us to be comfortable.

Steak lovers take note: many restaurants serve steak medium, regardless of your specification, but not the Castaway! Anne's steak was RARE and tender, just the way she likes it. ♥️

The brussel Caesar salad was tasty; the chicken wrap was well received; but nothing got quite so much praise as the crab cakes. Man oh man, the folks who got the crab cake sandwich were in...

We stopped here at the start of a drive from Montreal to New York City. It was the closest sit down restaurant I could find outside of the US / CAN border crossing. We wanted to have something besides the fast food offerings right outside the border. The food was good. Our kids loved the chicken tenders, fries, and pigs in a blanket - which were actually corn dogs. The kids pasta was ok. There are showers in the restrooms. Leaving that there in case you'd like a shower before or after a long drive. Great service. Nice people work here. I'd definitely come back again.
