Ace's Country Cupboard — Restaurant in Town of Belfast

So the first day we went was on a Saturday am and it was busy but the one waitress did a great job. The food was the best breakfast I have in a long time. We liked it so much we went back on Sunday and the place was so packed the parking lot was full. Our waitress from the day before was way too busy to take care of us but another younger girl took our drink order and brought them to us right away. Then we saw nobody for 20 minutes and asked the young girl how much longer. She said they were backed up because so busy but the kitchen was almost ready and she apologized for the wait. NOW CASH ONLY. Food has been consistently good to great over our years of eating at this restaurant. We just recently ate here after being away since covid and were greeted at the door by a handwritten sign in sharpie that they were now cash only after taking credit/debit for years. With there no longer being an ATM at the local bank we were forced to use the ATM on site and pay the $2.95 fee. Our bank in turn charged us $2 for using their ATM at the restaurant. Let’s just say we still tipped a reasonable amount but not as much as we could have. I get food prices are already high enough but handing off credit card charges directly to customers in the form of ATM fees is borderline shady. $12 and some change for a BLT sandwich and a pepsi, no chips or fries included just a plain blt with 2 straps of bacon. Sandwich was ok, just ok. Server never asked if it was ok and when I cashed out I presume it was the owner, never asked me if it was ok just took my money and said have a good day, no thank you, nothing. Just another small business price gouging taking advantage of the covid pandemic dilemma.
