Went to this place a couple of weeks ago along with a group of friends for lunch, with high hopes based on the reviews, but the reviews were either misleading, or they were having a very bad day. The service was INSANELY slow, we had to request our drinks twice. I believe someone from the kitchen started serving us because the second time he just told us our server is working on it. I ordered the Maple Burger with American cheese medium rare. I was given a well done burger with cheese that was, the only way I could describe, covered in water. I took 1 bite and it was the driest burger I ever had with zero flavor other than the ketchup. This was the first time in my entire life I sent something back, and given how long it took to receive the food I didn't get anything else and watched as my friends ate. Once we were finished it took about another 20 minutes to be presented with the check. I'm giving 2 stars because a couple of my friends enjoyed the food, but I will never recommend this place to anybody I know and will...
Read moreWe were not impressed. This is why. Pros, great location by the lake, large deck, beautiful views. Staff attentive and prompt. Cons. Salad bar was pretty much low on everything, the wooden salad dishes were disgusting. I picked up at least 10 dishes before I felt that I had a clean dish. The Wiener Schnitzel definitely was not veal as listed on the menu. Potato pancakes had no taste, gravy was fresh out of the package. Cabbage right out of the jar, nothing added to make it taste unique or give the impression someone gave it a taste before it went out. Pretty much freezer, jar, to frier, pan and not much more. I know when you have a busy restaurant you need to get food out, but with all the great reviews, I felt this dish was not worth it. My partner had a club sandwich with fries. Way too much mayonnaise. Otherwise ok. Fries were good. We might be back, we might not. It's usually the first impression...
Read moreAfter checking into a local campground, we asked for a restaurant recommendation. We were informed that the Maple Inn was the only nearby option. We didn't hold out high hopes for what we would find. We came around the corner of the road and noticed the building. Our first thought....were we under dressed in shorts and a tee-shirt. No, we observed people going in and out in regular clothes. We walked in through the bar and a whole bunch of very pretty young ladies working as servers and bartenders looked up at us with a big smile. Wow, I thought. Not what I expected at all. We made our way to the dining area and decided to sit on the deck, looking over the water. The service was good, the food was very good, and the micro-brewed beer was excellent. Despite the deck filling up with diners, we were not rushed out. We will definitely visit the next time...
