Whippoorwill Hawks Nest — Restaurant in Town of Berry

Quaint little bar in the middle of no where. The owners were friendly and it made for some nice conversation. Over all the place seemed clean and well kept. I ordered a cheeseburger with the works as well as some jalapeno poppers.

The burger was basically just a typical run of the mill burger, nothing overly special. However the jalapeno poppers were the stars of the show. They were made with long slices of fresh jalapenos and the breading was perfect. These did not seem like your run of the mill jalapeno poppers.

I would definitely visit this location again as I am curious to try their other menu items. Rumor has it that the fish fry is...

We arrive with at 6:30 with a group of 6, you cannot reserve a table unless it’s a party of 7 or more. Seating is seat yourself. There is no waiting list so people that arrive after you can find a table before you’re able to find a table, very frustrating. It took 40 minutes to find a table, took 20 min to place our order, took another 40 minutes to get our food, took another 20 minutes to get our bill. Clearly the owners is responsible for the total chaos we experience and clearly does not care and why should he, the place...

I totally understand that everywhere is short staffed but this night was very busy and I really don't know who our waitress was. One took our drink order, our drinks were served fast. Then we waited, waited, finally another waitress came and we finally reordered drinks and our food. Again, we waited, 45 minutes after our orders were taken our dinners were served and again with someone different. If you go on a Friday, make sure you're not in a hurry. Fish was good but for the price maybe a bit more options for sides...
