Friends Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Town of Bethel

Had a pretty good experience here and our waiter was very attentive. It’s killing me that I can’t remember his name at the moment bc I’m writing this weeks after the experience. Maybe I should be more disciplined writing the reviews while the food experience is fresh in my mind, I’ll think about it.

House salad was standard and was simple but executed well. The shrimp apps were decent, seasoned well and fried hard. Half were tempura and the other half coconut. I wish we had one more of each.

My son read the menu for the 1st time (5) by his lonesome and selected the shrimp and fries platter which was also just standard. We dabble into pescatarian and allow seafood & dairy once in a while.

The Beet Salad could’ve been better reimagined. Just looked and felt like it was just abruptly thrown together. Big pieces of lettuce with tons of beets (very tender) and various sizes of goat cheese.

My husbands pasta was the best dish. Very garlicky and very flavorful.

The lemon cake was shared amongst all 3 of us and it was to die for I could’ve...

Not sure how to approach this review. We had a great experience inside with friendly employees and good food. Then our experience was ruined by a yelling older man and women who said they were the owners... My children were innocently playing on their grass area/property grounds that looked like an outdoor seating area/bar for patrons to use during summer time. Then we were abruptly approached by a man who came out yelling at us and then asking us what we were stealing and doing on the property. We explained we just finished eating. We’re not stealing anything my kids are just playing. He was extremely rude and his reaction was over the top and uncalled for. Had he communicated properly to us things wouldn’t have ended the way the did. Rather than yell at us the way he did, he could have spoken to us with kindness. We went to Friends for a late meal after working a Market nearby and although the kitchen was about to close, our server was absolutely wonderful and took care of us and made sure our orders were taken in time. My burger was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked, the service was fantastic and the energy was wonderful. You can tell everyone loves this spot because groups kept pouring in for drinks and socializing. High volume level with lots of laughter and friendship. My wife left her debit card there accidentally and when I called to retrieve it the next day, prior to opening, the staff were wonderful, pleasant, polite and thoughtful. I can’t say enough good about this place and the people. I’ll definitely stop in again next time...
