I'm pretty sure that this place might have relocated recently as there was definitely no waterfront views. There also wasn't a dining room to eat in. They did have some tables outside on a patio that could use some love.
Unfortunately that was the best part about this place. There is just a small back room that is the kitchen, that serves as the only entrance. Then they'll bring your food out to you at one of the tables. So far, a little strange, but not horrible...
We ordered a lamb& beef gyro & a chicken gyro (I ate the chicken). We got our food & everything tasted good. We were happy that we found a new place to eat, especially since gyros are my husband's favorite! I did notice that the oils from the chicken were fluorescent yellow in color when they dropped onto the paper towel. At the time I thought it was a little bit weird, but it didn't taste funny so I continued eating. We left to go visit family. Not even an hour later my stomach started churning and I immediately had to run to the bathroom, it was definitely not pretty. I finish up and in 20 minutes I'm back in the bathroom with another explosion at the ready. Another 20 minutes I'm back in the bathroom again...
Now I'm starting to feel horrible pains in my stomach and have the feeling that I'm going to start vomiting. I'm feeling extremely nauseous at this point and I give my husband pleading eyes telling him that it's time for us to go home. He doesn't take the hint right away because someone is in the middle of telling a story and he doesn't want to be rude. My leg is shaking I'm trying not to think about any of this but it's all consuming at this point. I'm ready to blow chunks all over the place... From both ends...
We finally go to leave, as soon as we get outside my throat start to tingle, my mouth starts to salivate, and I know I'm going to throw up any second. I try a million different breathing techniques on the way home. Somehow I keep it together for the 20-minute car ride. The second we get home I race to the bathroom & it's like the exorcist. It just doesn't stop exiting out of me from both ends.
This goes on for hours, seriously. The original bathroom break was at 8pm, here it is 4am & I'm still going. My husband takes me to the hospital because by now I'm so dehydrated that it makes me even more sick to try & take even the tiniest sip of water. Thankfully the hospital gave me fluids via an IV & some nausea meds & by 10 am we were on our way back home.
My husband later told me that when he went back inside to throw away our trash & to pay the person making the food removed his glove to use the tablet so we could pay, he then put the gloves back on & took the trash from us, then continued to prepare his next order.
Everything wasn't completely terrible. My husband loved his lamb gyro & the french fries were great. I'm not saying don't try this place, just maybe don't get the chicken... & Possibly stay inside to watch the food be prepared. It's been 2 days since this all happened & I'm still in...
Read moreOk, so see my review below for my first experience. I just left after an extraordinarily disappointing second try. We sat there for almost an hour before my one cold appetizer came out. Is was then explained to us that we have been put on the back burner so to speak because the restaurant decided to begin DoorDash. I am quite surprised that people sitting on their couch at home got preference over customers that put their shoes on, got in their car, drove to the restaurant and then just sat and waited. The people at home have snacks and TV. Our entertainment was watching the waitress go back and forth while our bellies stayed empty. Honestly, DoorDash is almost unheard of up here, so there are no real expectations for it. We were in the restaurant and we sat and waited and waited and waited. đ€·ââïž We just had dinner there for the first time and the food is absolutely amazing. My husband had the artichoke and spinach dip for an appetizer and I had spanakopita. Mine was perfectly crispy on the outside and amazingly creamy on the inside. My husbandâs dip was rich and tasted delicious also. The pita that came with his dip was soft and quite flavorful also. For dinner we both had the gyro platter and those were also fantastic. The chicken was moist and spiced just right. The lemon potatoes were also wonderful. The tzatziki it came with was perfectly tangy.
The service however was rather lackluster. The wait for the appetizers was definitely longer than it should have been. My husbandâs appetizer came out and I had to wait another six or seven minutes for mine. A moment after my appetizer came out, our dinners came out as well. We were sitting at a small two person table and we had almost no room for everything. I felt like we also had to flag our waitress down for things.
All things considered, we will definitely go back there again. The food taste and quality absolutely makes up for the service issues. The restaurant is also on White Lake and has an absolutely gorgeous view as well. All in all, we...
Read moreAtmosphere was beautiful but unfortunately that was the only plus for this restaurant. There was one woman there who was very pleasant but she was the only one greeting people & working at least 12 tables. Recipe for disaster right there. We ordered the lamb souvlaki. I heard that we were supposed to be served pita bread with hummus as we waited for our meal but that never happened. We saw other tables had it but no one brought it to us. After starving for what felt like forever we received our meals but only to be very disappointed. The lamb souvlaki had no flavor and you couldnât even bite through it. We were ripping at it to try to get pieces off. We saw another table doing the same. The rice was undercooked & under seasoned. The side salad was ok but there was no dressing. We asked politely three times for dressing but no one brought any the first two times. The third time it finally came but all we were given was a tiny container filled with mostly oil. Also not a lot of food at all for the price. And as I mentioned earlier the waitress was nice but we didnât see or interact much with her due to the fact that she was working 12 tables by herself. There were two other men working there but they provided no help to this young woman at all. We wonât be return customers & that is a shame because the view...
