Have been to dozens of Indian/ Pakistani lunch buffets around USA and I am sorry to say in our opinion this is one of the worst. Arrived at 140pm with posted buffet end time of 230pm. (50 minutes ahead of close)Half of the buffet items were empty. The host said he would take care of it but 15-20 minutes later all empty items were still empty. I told host we would leave if they did not put food out. Host said they were cooking it fresh. Finally food started to come out. Food was bland and tasteless and chicken pieces were not tender in tikka masala. Many items were very low end ie cabbage, potatoes and poor quality lamb and chicken . Everything that did not get a refill on the buffet were also cold enough to probably not pass a Health Department inspection. Essence of this type of food is spicing which we experienced not much of. Tandoori chicken did not have characteristic red color and looked more like a soggy version of KFC. As time approached 215pm staff began to wash the floor literally right next to our table with a very strong cleaner which of course ruined any possible enjoyment of our meal of which there was very little to begin with. In addition, staff kept watching us as the clock approached 230pm with the unmistakable message of when are we going to leave. We were fooled by seeing some positive reviews on the internet but on this day for this meal one star out of five is accurate in our opinion. Naan and iced tea were good that is what the one...

While the food at Taj was good, the overall experience fell short of expectations. Despite making a reservation for 8:30 PM through OpenTable, we felt rushed from the moment we arrived. The waiter informed us that the kitchen was on its last call despite the restaurant accepting reservations until 9:00 PM. We hurried to order appetizers and dinner, and our food arrived promptly by 9:00 PM. However, we were then swiftly presented with the bill and pressured to pay, as the waiter was eager to close for the night. This rushed atmosphere made it difficult to enjoy our meal comfortably. As a business owner myself, I believe it's essential to provide honest feedback when service falls below expectations. Though we spent over $200, we left feeling disappointed and uncomfortable. I hope Taj can improve its service and create a more relaxed dining environment in the future. While I may consider giving it another chance, I would caution others to manage their expectations...

Outstanding Dining Experience!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taj and it was truly an outstanding experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The service was impeccable—attentive without being intrusive, and the staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.

The food was a delightful journey through the rich and diverse flavors of Indian cuisine. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with authentic taste. The tandoori chicken as well as the chili garlic naan were a highlight, perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection.

The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall experience, making it a great spot for both intimate dinners and gatherings with friends. I can't recommend Taj highly enough and am already looking forward to my next visit. If you're looking for exceptional Indian food with top-notch service, this is the...

Taj is hands down one of my favorite spots for Indian cuisine in the Capital Region. I find myself coming back again and again, especially for their incredible dosa. It’s massive, filled with perfectly seasoned potatoes, and served with a variety of flavorful chutneys and dips that make each bite unforgettable. Their curries are equally impressive. Rich, aromatic, and packed with layers of spice and flavor that keep me craving more. I also have to give a shoutout to the desserts. The beetroot halwa was surprisingly delightful, with an earthy sweetness that's both unique and satisfying. And the frozen mango dessert? Absolutely delicious. The cashews add the perfect crunch and pair beautifully with the creamy mango. On top of all that, the service is always impeccable. Warm, attentive, and welcoming. As long as Taj is around, I’ll be a regular. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and give them a try. You’re going to love it.

BAD EXPERIENCEEEEEE!!!!! I got a good review to try this restaurant. So yesterday I went to this restaurant and ordered “Malai Kofta” and “Shahi Paneer” with Malabar Parotta. To my surprise they made both the curries look-alike (no difference except for kofta and paneer!!!!!). And it was prepared with extreme sweetness and raisins 🤢🤢🤢 I thought after some bites it will worn off thinking it might have green chillies. But it was simply tasted like payasam and couldn’t eat more than 2 spoons. When I gave the review, they told it is because they have more American customers and suggested me to not waste the food and take it to home and try to modify. But to be frank, it can’t be modified even if I try to. Because it was prepared like a milkshake with extreme sugar. And even after our compliant, they charged me for both the curries. It’s my last visit to TAJ !!!!!! DISAPPOINTMENT PRO MAXXXXX.
