Pine Drive Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Birch Creek

We stopped in on Friday for a meal, and I ordered the taco salad. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Not only did we have to wait an unusually long time for our food, but when mine finally arrived, it didn’t come with any chips. When I asked for some, I was handed a small sauce cup filled with crumbs. I approached another server to request more, and at that point, a male manager or possibly the owner stepped in.

Rather than addressing my request politely, he held the menu up to my face and abruptly told me the dish only comes with crushed chips. I calmly asked if there was any way to get more, but he raised his voice at me and told me no—then told me to calm down, even though he was the one being loud and confrontational.

The food itself was average, but the customer service left a lot to be desired. I wouldn’t return based on how the situation was handled.

Seems you can’t respond to a response. I’m really disappointed by how my concern was exaggerated and misrepresented. Instead of owning up to the mistake, it was twisted into something it wasn’t. I simply asked for chips because I was hungry — not drunk, not dehydrated, and certainly not causing a scene. We had only been on the water for a few hours after arriving in town that afternoon.

What’s truly unacceptable is being yelled at — especially as a woman — by a man in a bar for something as basic as asking for food. That kind of behavior is unprofessional and uncalled for. It’s unfortunate that a simple request turned into an uncomfortable and...

This place has a few things we enjoyed: right on the water, outdoor seating, and stuff for the kids to do while they waited (sidewalk chalk, free popsicles, gaga ball, etc). Unfortunately, our pizza came with the incorrect toppings and the gal who brought it (not our server- it seemed like the owner?) said, "the mushrooms are big, so you can just pick them off." They never offered to make a new one and did not adjust the check. Our actual server was new and bless her heart, she was trying hard but was very flustered and nervous. My husband ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with bacon and fries. There were probably a dozen or less fries that we paid $2.50 extra for and they forgot the bacon, at which the waitress accused him of not ordering, even though the entire table was witness to it. I ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich. I did not see any cheese on it. Not my favorite! Another member in our party ordered buffalo wings and the sauce came on the side? She sent them back to get tossed in the sauce....
