The Tavern — Restaurant in Town of Bombay

This is honestly the worst restaurant I've ever been to. Not even that the food was bad. But the servers are terrible. You're waiting forever for food and drinks. The server had zero knowledge of the bar menu and I kept asking for the drink menu and she wouldn't bring it to me only until after I asked for sangria and she came back saying they couldn't make that... The place isn't very clean. The floors were dirty. It was more like a truck stop diner.

The worst part of my whole experience was asking for a container for my food, there was an issue with payment so after we got that sorted out I walked away and not even two minutes had went by that I realized I forgot my to go container. I immediately went back and as I was walking there I can see the server walking to the back with it. I said that was my food container and she said sorry we just threw it out. I ordered a main dish, and two sides and all of them were half eaten. Just thrown away and wasted. They didn't even bother to wait or even put it off to the side. Like I said I was gone for literally two minutes. I was so upset I had to just walk away instead of coming to a resolution with the staff. Either way I will never eat here...

I'm only doing this review to shout out to the server, Lela, because she was AMAZING. However, food was extremely underwhelming. The menu was messed up. They had eggs Benedict and chicken & waffles under the meal, with home fries and toast. Neither of those things actually come with home fries and toast. They didn't even have waffles for the chicken and waffles, and the chicken seemed like microwaveable chicken fingers lol! The eggs Benedict was sub par and I'm 99% sure the hollondaise sauce came from a McCormick packet. When issues were mentioned to the server, she didn't really do anything about it but she was so nice that we shrugged it off. No big deal, we just won't...

The food was decent, but the service was, while a lot of 4 letter words would work here, let's just say it was lousy. We went for breakfast, and the waitress never came back to ask how our food was or if we would like more coffee - we did want more and finally got it after we were done eating, after asking for the 3rd time. And the attitudes.... so bad it's actually hard to describe how bad. Heard all about how they were shorthanded, not my fault or problem, and as I looked around and there were people at all of 4 other tables besides us... We had been thinking about going here for dinner also, but not anymore. Really bad experience. No stars for service is a...
