Three Girls Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Boston

This is one of our favorite places for breakfast and it’s a special treat when we go. Three Girls has been a staple in my boyfriend’s life as he grew up in the area, but I’ve only lived here a year and I’ve come to love this place as much as him. The service has never been subpar and we are always treated with the kind of down to earth hospitality you only find in small town diners like this. The food is always perfect and the specials can be hard to choose from because everything sounds so good! Their French toast specials are always delightful. Our food comes out fast and we never have to wait for anything we need. This is a cash only (ATM inside) restaurant which is made clear on the door before you enter, to anyone who’s complained about that. It’s a small business and they don’t need credit card companies taking 3% of every transaction. I had stuffed potato pancakes with cheddar cheese and mushrooms. Side of eggs was included, I chose scrambled- well done. Eggs were satisfactory cooked so as not to be wet. Two rather large mounds of potato pancakes proved to be generously filled with a thick consistency cheese, and average sliced mushrooms. Pretty sure they weren't canned mushrooms. The pancakes themselves were nice and crispy where you want, the edges- and tender elsewhere. There was a bit of grease on the plate, underneath. Not overwhelmingly so, but noticeable. The dish was fairly priced, and plenty of food to fill you up. Overall, quite good! Perhaps lacking in finesse, but this is a very down-home place. Atmosphere is super casual. Busy, but no waiting... Ordered breakfast special and it's not at all what I thought. My easy over eggs were over cooked so I could not dunk my toast, toast was soggy, the bacon tastes like they pulled it out of a grease bath from last week also home fries were soggy, no crunch on the outside. I found getting a chicken finger meal is much better, but only 2/3 of the time. Sorry if it seems like I'm bad talking I just wanted some food and I'm just left hungry again and the price for food everywhere is out of control. $10 two eggs toast couple pieces of bacon bits two pieces of toast and what a third of a small potato.....Tried again, but an omlett special, not good, and breakfast prices...
