Gooch's 2 Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Town of Boulder Junction

My family comes up north every year, and we ALWAYS have stopped into Gooch’s. This year, when as soon as we walked in, like normal people would into a restaurant, a long-haired guy with AirPods in blurted out that we can’t sit at the bar because only customers can sit there…? We went to the dining room, and most of the tables were empty, and it was quite early in the evening. One of the servers told us they didn’t want us to have access to absolutely any of the tables because they needed to “clean”, though they were all standing around. We had to go back to the bar, where the man with long hair was evidently upset to see us back for some reason. We became uncomfortable and came to the conclusion we weren’t wanted there for some reason; as we paid and started to walk away the man and woman both working in the bar started laughing and yelling for us to hear how “weird” we were IN FRONT of us. I am still stunned because there was absolutely nothing out of the ordinary we did. No meanness, no nothing, the bar tenders were just terrible people for...

Foods a little pricey for what you are getting IMHO. I went with my parents, wife and kids. My wife and dad had BLTs which they enjoyed. My daughter had all you can eat salad bar and 4 wings which she enjoyed. My mom had a prime rib/steak sandwich which she enjoyed but it looked like it was pretty fatty for the price. I had the two piece white broasted chicken, which comes with salad bar. I did not eat the salad, my dad did and he enjoyed it. The chicken was cooked but didn't have any real flavor. It just tasted like chicken. I also got broasted potatoes. Thought I would try something new, they looked good when they arrived but they were hard as rocks. Our waitress, who was quite friendly and helpful, went so far as to have a new order made for me but when they came out they too were hard as rocks. We had a party of 11 and we got there at 4:15. We told the host that we know we have a large group and could be split up. We were told the wait would be 1:30 minutes... not to bad... 1:45 goes by, still not called. We checked in with the host again, we were told not much longer. After another 30 went back again. Told were the next table and that there were a large number of large tables tonight. Finally after 2:50 we were sat. Then we sat around waiting for our server for another 10 minutes. Needless to say we were rather frustrated at this point. We should have been told at 4:15 the wait will be at least 2 hours.. I had the Northwoods fish fry.. the perch and walleye were great, sunfish was good, the northern was well ok... its northern, that's to be expected.
