Riverview Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Brasher

Our group of four ate at the Riverview yesterday. We were there on Sunday, around 5:30. We were seated promptly outside where we could view the river. It was not busy outside and it was pleasant with no flies. I had the prime rib dip sandwich with the French fries. It was very good. I also ordered a side Caesar salad. It came with way too much dressing. Next time, I will order it dressed lightly (which you can do). My husband ordered the house made chips, which were good, but a bit under done. He and a friend ordered the buffalo chicken wrap. She said it was the best she's ever had. You can order it mild, medium, or hot. Our other friend ordered the meatball sub special; he said it was good. We were going to order a side of poutine instead of plain fries. When asked what they use for cheese, she said mozzarella. IMO, poutine should be made with cheese curd. The plain French fries were very good. 4 stars instead of 5 because of the excessive dressing and the poutine cheese. Our server was excellent! Waitress polite yet inattentive. Brought drinks, and our food in 2 trips each time but the time in between was a significant amount of time. Ordered a dozen wings, half one sauce and half another, was brought 2 half lbs of boneless wings and only one sauce was correct. And this was after all other food for the party had came out, by the time they came out everyone wasn't almost done. Then when the wings were brought up that it was incorrect the only option we had was to make a new set of wings, which at this point we had been there almost an hour and everyone else was done. Once I said I didn't really wanna wait as we had been there a while, she just walked away and didn't come back only to bring the check and boxes. No fit was thrown but there was no compensation for the messed up meal or the poor...

The food was ok. We dined in after a long day at work. I had their special which was a broiled haddock with dill, my wife had the prime rib and our son had the alfredo and chicken pasta. The portions seemed a little small for the prices. Our waitress was very nice but seemed to be maybe new to the job, it took a while to get my beer and our other drinks. I ordered appetizers and she never asked when I would like them so everything we ordered came out all together causing some things to get cold. Overall though it was alright.
