Leonard's Cherry-Knoll Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Burke

So, my friend recommended this place when we were out shopping yesterday, June 24th 2023, had been there before and said pricing food & service was great.

Upon entering the carpet looked filthy, and no one had bussed the empty table near us for a good 30 minutes or more after we arrived.

It wasn't packed, there were 2 more tables occupied besides us 2.

We waited 10 minutes for a menu. Which by the way is awful. I'm from Montreal and breakfast includes everything, but this place was more a la carte (single itemed). If you wanted fries or home fries it was 3$ extra. Bacon was 3$ extra. Coffee was over 2$ and not included.

I ordered 2 french toast, added bacon home fries and a coffee because nothing came with it. Then I went to the washroom and noticed a sign by the door with a special of the exact thing I ordered that the waitress said she forgot was on... So had I not seen it I would have paid over 5$ more for nothing.

Then I waited 20 minutes for my coffee which, you know takes less than a minute to pour. My friend saw our waitress just chatting with someone at the counter.

Then the food came. The french toast was ok. The home fries were pitiful, cut extremely tiny and not seasoned with anything and the portion was about half a cup. My friend ordered onions on hers and they didn't even fry them just literally put raw shredded onion on top.

In the end for 2 breakfasts it cost 34$ and my friend was beside herself, said it wasn't like that at all when she had last went the year before. Anyways, I wasn't impressed at all with that place and will...

Do not eat here… stopped here for breakfast last Sunday morning in hopes for a good meal. On arrival the first thing I noticed was the cart full of dirty dishes and half drank soda glasses obviously from the night before just sitting in the corner of the dining room. Service was pleasant but after ordering are breakfast I went to the restroom it was disgusting an I could smell cigarette smoke then saw the cigarette ashes on the floor of the restroom….. returned to my table when food was delivered my home fries tasted like old burnt oil and my breakfast sandwich was a greasy mess also the half an half for are coffee was 5 days past the expiration . My girlfriend had ordered a pancake an real maple syrup. Pancake was decent but the syrup was definitely fake stuff although they changed a extra 1.50 for what they considered real maple syrup.. lots of flys and lack of cleanliness do not...

A hole in the space time continumn. If you're old enough to remember the 80s then this is like a childhood memory. Carpeted dining area with bar bench seats. Some mix of 80s with the 50s soda shops. A small town stop that gave me a glimpse into the area. The staff was great, very kind and greeted us with a smile. I've said it before but I dig nice peeps. The food.. a wide menu with daily specials and all day breakfast. Yes please! Oh don't forget the syrup! Ahhh, a splash of pure maple sugar that made my adhd sing 🤣 Yea, you're going to have to season it yourself but I prefer that anyways. Overall clean, maybe a lil run down but who cares.
