On May 12th, 2024, which was Mother’s Day, I took my girlfriend, who is a mother, to this location. Unfortunately, they did nothing special for Mother’s Day—no discounts, free offerings, or appetizers. Parking was free, as usual, on their gravel lot. I mentioned that my girlfriend likes Rieslings, so they offered her a flight of four wines to taste. I also noted that I can get gastric reflux from overly tart or acidic wines, so they provided a flight of four for me as well. We sat outside on children’s furniture, looking out at a vineyard that was not in season (not the right time for lush greenish), and gazing at their elderly family dog that was lapping at their bowl. My girlfriend only enjoyed one of the white wines, and it took some time to grow on her. I found all the red wines I tasted too tart and acidic, almost to the point of being undrinkable. When asked how we liked them, I returned my barely touched glasses. Surprisingly, the server agreed that they wouldn’t have been easy to drink with my gastric reflux. Why offer them in the first place if that was the case? Having stated that I like Eastern European wines and Australian Shiraz’s which have an average acidity of 5.5 to 6.5 grams/L I was given a flight of wines with less than 4.5 grams/L acidity. Just say you didn’t have any reds that would be to my liking. Despite my girlfriend purchasing a bottle, I do not recommend this vineyard, especially for reds. The Canadian side of Niagara’s wine country consistently offers less acidic, more palatable wines with better views.

This was by far the nicest winery we have been to on the Niagara Wine Trail; I wanted to give it 5 stars however the high cost of the products / food is too great to be able to do so. I understand there is high overhead to contend with, but the prices here far outpaced all of the other wineries we have been too locally, and for food it was simply to worth it. The Blackbird hard cider that other places charge $4-5 for is $8 here. The cheese platter is $17 and you don't get much, should you opt for the additional meet for the $5 up charge they give you pre-sliced pepperoni that you could pick up at a grocery store. I was definitely disappointed on that front. I didn't have a sandwich, wrap or pizza but those seemed to be high quality though the same high price. On the wine front I selected two bottles of Syrah and went to check out, much to my surprise my total came to $86. This was almost double the most expensive bottle of wine we had seen that day, and this was our third stop. I have no doubt the wine will be good, but is it $86 good, when I could have gotten several other options elsewhere for $20-25? Only time will tell. The costs aside, this is a stunning property and one that clearly is taken extremely good care of. Inside and out, you could tell great attention was placed on the small details to make a warm and inviting space. Not to mention there was two lovely dogs outside very happy to get petted and keep visitors happy. I would come back, but would be very mindful of my spending and what I was selecting.

I miss that Syrah! 4.5 for us! This is the first time I ever tasted this red wine called syrah and I miss it already. James made the experience absolutely memorable. Well... first and foremost the venue is huge! and we were told that it's only one wing of the whole place. The views of the vineyard from where we sat were stunning. just caught enough sun before it came down. Next was the hospitality. James. incredibly helpful. We were visiting niagara falls as you guys probably are as well and we got into the "what's for dinner around here" conversation which he had a lot of suggestions for us. ;) Then we had mentioned our ideas of visiting buffalo NY. Wouldn't you know, he's from buffalo! Then i realized it was just 30 minute drive from the winery. lol Although we didn't get to visit buffalo this time we will for sure in the future because of James and probably swing by to visit him again! Thanks James for your enthusiasm and giving us recommendations cheers!

I went to Arrowhead Spring Vineyards last Thursday with my girlfriend. We were the only ones in the tasting room during our time there. After learning that I was there to write a report for a wine tasting class I am taking the staff offered to give me the tastings for free. We tried the majority of the wine on the menu. The wine they make there is mostly dry and red. I enjoyed the majority of the wines we tried. The 2011 cab sauv might be the best thing on the menu, I would highly recommend it. The 2012 meritage reserve and 2012 chardonnay reserve were also very good and I would recommend them as well. Both of the syrahs we tasted were heavy in flavor and spice. It took some time to get the pepper taste out of my mouth after trying them, I would definitely skip them next time. The Vidal Blanc desert wine we tasted was amazing. Its mango peach flavor could have easily been used as syrup for waffles or have been poured over vanilla ice cream as desert. Overall it was a great visit. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the wines were above par. The wines were a bit overpriced but it is definitely...
