Ridiculously good. Stop. You don't understand. Read it again. RIDICULOUSLY GOOD. It's not enough that this charming little restaurant and tavern has a mystical, fun vibe, or that it's a magnificent half hour drive from Albany thundering down a lightly patrolled Route 66 in a V8, the talented chefs here have committed to service as an ideal, and make everything from scratch. Original, flavorful mocktails are a welcome contemporary offering (key lime pie in a glass, my wife said), and Bostonian Shrimp with horseradish started the meal with a bang, sowing intrigue for what's to come. Meat loaf from another galaxy with fresh ground bespoke protein blends are enhanced with homestyle gravy, while the fried chicken sandwich has a thick golden coating wrapped over tender chicken tenderized with loving care. You can tell instantly that everything is made fresh to order, right here on the premises. Coffee lovers rejoice: they have an espresso machine, and know how to use it. Pairs well with from-scratch desserts; fragrant peach pie came with a crust that practically flakes like a cross between filo dough and shortbread. Mind-blowing. We're guessing their breakfast (SERVED ALL DAY!) rivals Blue Benn or Madison Café; can't wait to find out. Shut up and go. Now.

My wife and I had gone to Gnome Bistro for breakfast, and I must say, everything was delicious. The French toast was absolutely on point, and my wife's omelette was delicious, especially with the avocado, onions, and peppers. Our waitress Ally was very polite and provided impeccable service. The ambiance was really nice and cozy, and I really like the tin ceiling.😃 I accidentally left my wallet there and Ally our waitress, was able to find my number in their system from our reservation and gave me a call to let me know they'd keep it safe until I could retrieve it. At the time, I was already at the concert in Tanglewood, so I couldn't rush back immediately. A huge shoutout to Ally and the entire team for keeping my wallet secure and for providing good customer service.

The Gnome Bistro offers a culinary experience that is both enchanting and satisfying. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by an ambiance that transports you to a whimsical world of flavor and delight.

Our dining experience at The Gnome Bistro was nothing short of delightful. The menu boasted a diverse selection of dishes, each crafted with care and attention to detail. From savory appetizers to decadent desserts, there was something to tantalize every palate.

The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the main course. The flavors were bold and vibrant, showcasing the chef's expertise in combining ingredients to create dishes that were both comforting and innovative. Every bite was a revelation, leaving us eager for more.

However, it's worth noting that the only drawback of our experience was the wait time for our food to arrive. While the quality of the dishes was unquestionable, it took a bit longer than expected for them to reach our table. Nonetheless, the attentive staff and charming atmosphere helped to alleviate any feelings of impatience.

In conclusion, dining at The Gnome Bistro was a delightful experience that left a lasting impression. Despite the minor inconvenience of a longer wait time, the exceptional quality of the food more than made up for it. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience that will transport you to a world of culinary delight, look no further than The...

This place is the most welcome opening in years. The former restaurant was a favorite of the locals, and the replacement is more than welcome, and should do fine. We certainly hope so. Inside is improved; looks more modern, but much like the old version. A few tips for the new owners: 1. Build a deck in the back for summer outdoor eating, and as a place where people with dogs can eat with them (dogs not allowed in NY indoors in eateries). 2. Maybe a special at night; the menu is good, but could use an additional nightly meal. Classic Rib Roast on Friday apparently is very popular, 3) Menu has a "Classic Benedict" but it is described and served without any meat, which is usually Canadian Bacon, according to Google. Otherwise, not classic. Maybe call it a 'Gnome' Benedict' or, better yet, add the bacon (at additional price, of course). This is actually the third review. As a local, I was excited about the reopening of what was the closest and often the best eatery around. They even baked their own bread, and sold it separately, It just got worse and worse, as the summer wore on. A great example of the difference between owner/operator and investor/operator. The former was indeed terrific, but today's "bistro" is almost terrible, and getting worse. Mostly a breakfast place, it really needs more attention to just about everything (except decor). Unless you are starving,...

This little hideaway is so worth the ride. Don't you love finding a quaint restaurant that's not precocious with great quality and a fun homespun feel. The Gnome bistro was just that for us. I saw the good reviews and made the trip. The waitress was not only friendly, but super helpful. The menu is filled with lots of great options, there are the standards, but some really nice twists on the basics. I had the homemade corned beef hash with some perfectly prepared eggs (as I requested med firm poached) and their homemade English muffin toast (which was really delicious). They actually have real strawberry preserves and jelly's and yes they provide real maple syrup from a bottle not a plastic packet (Thank you for that alone)

The ambient feel is quaint and homey and they look like they have an amazing dinner menu that we will be back to try for sure.

This is the kind of place you would hope to live close to and they make it all so nice with reasonable prices for the quality.

Really worth the trip!

Great stuff good job!

Update: Went back for dinner, and now I totally will make this a regular stop. The "totchos" were next level. Don't let the simple name fool you. They are delicious homemade potato croquettes, plated with a lime crema, shaved Parmesan oven roasted and jalapeno slices. I could have made a meal out of just that. Our main course entrees were incredibly...
